Nice-ish price. I don't feel it's that far out of line but I'd try and haggle a bit.

Would I buy one? No, I’m not likely to ever be in that income bracket. Do I want one? Yes indeedy.

It reminds me a bit of old-school 40’s custom cars, which often had a tail dragging stance, albeit with the front suspension lowered as well so’s not to just look like you’re carrying a couple of engine blocks in the trunk.

The Nick Matranga Mercury is a good example - it’s definitely lower in the back than the front.

To my mind the problem with this car is the fact that it’s not a genuine Cabrio - it’s a Targa with the rollbar removed. Much like other coupe-to-convertible chops, a lot of structural rigidity is taken out - judging from the terrible shape the rest of the car is in I don’t trust that this conversion was done well at

Seeing as how this is most likely a Targa with the hoop removed (the Cabrio was introduced in the early 80’s), the Walker-style track rat is your best bet, because you’ll have to do something to shore up the body anyway. Might as well make it a full cage.

Wasn't there a guy around here who had a Cobalt SS from new, and it was just a reliability nightmare?

Ask the seller to check the pencil in the glove compartment, see if it belonged to anyone famous.

Nothing worth going into any detail about. But, I will say, that my eternal dislike of DRL’s stems from being interrupted while indulging in some late night secluded parking lot naked fun time.

Doug, tell that guy that the Focus has windows, there just ain’t anything in them. Maybe he’ll listen to you.

I’m giving it an NP, with the caveat that I’m going to haggle the hell out of it, because while it’s very clean, but also 80’s coke dealer white on white. I feel I'd have to wear a shiny suit whenever I drove it.

Friend of mine claims to have at one point worked somewhere that had an OK Soda vending machine. Like, that was the marquee brand being sold. The unicorn of the vending machine enthusiast!

I loved those as a kid, but they always seemed to make me thirstier. Like, I’d have a NY Seltzer, then need a big glass of just about anything else.

Wonder if they’ll use the stubby glass bottles with foam labels?

I’m intrigued. But I’m more intrigued by the IH graveyard.

There is an excellent book on this topic, called “leMans ‘55: the race that changed motorsports”, by Christopher Hilton. It’s a number of years old but it is a clear, well researched account of the event as well as its repercussions.

Had me till I saw the ridiculous stereo. Half racer, half show car, probably not great at either.

Nope. Nope. Noppitey-nope. I’d rather have (insert terrible CP contender here).

“Soup on a dick” sounds like something Siri would mangle.

However I totally agree with you. Must add to arsenal.

Jealous! They all rusted away around here, and the few you do see tend to either be beaters on their last legs or beaters with terrible, cheap “mods”. Once in a blue moon there’ll be one that looks presentable, and I always stare at it.

There was one in the parking lot at work one day, exactly the same as my old one,

The fact that the CRX was “just a Civic” was part of its brilliance. Cast iron reliability, great parts availability, and ease of use wrapped up in a package that was great fun to drive and is still good looking today, having mostly avoided looking like an old 80’s or 90’s car.

I love the MP4-12C. Best damn electric 3-ring binder hole punch I've ever used.
