Yeah, I had a bad UJ on my old Miata. It would rattle on overrun, and I’d get a little “ping” when I put it in reverse and let out the clutch. It also set up a bad vibration when accelerating through about 3500 rpm.

The grinding noise when you change up or down in a manual-known in Jolly Ol’ as a “graunch”. You can drive around it for a while (years maybe) but you should probably have that looked at.

You need to stop buying beaters.

Oh, yes.

I think it’s a rebuttal to the idea that an old car is incapable of doing those kinds of mileages. A lot of people like to say “Old cars were worn out and junk by three years and 50K!!” which is, honestly, not the case.

I’m going to guess you live in one of the dry states. Around here, 80’s Civics (hell, 80’s Japanese cars in general) dissolved faster than anything else - you bought a Civic assuming you’d junk it in five years because you’d have holes all over by then. Hell, even early 90’s Hondas rusted faster than domestics - we

Is it “Eff-pace”, “Efpace”(to rhyme with “Espace”), or “Ffpass” (sounds like disconnecting a high pressure air hose)? Enquiring minds who wouldn't buy one anyway want to know.

I thought it was on the money until I saw the interior. There are much better ways to add a camper interior than to fab up unpainted plywood. Makes me wonder what else was done in the cheap.

FWIW, no, I don’t think that someone’s television would get reclaimed. It’s a dumb argument, designed to show you how bad an idea it is to let Ferrari, or any other auto manufacturer, decide who gets to keep the vehicles they sell. Don’t sell them to whoever you want, I don’t care, but once money’s changed hands,

Giant difference between the authorities impounding one’s vehicle for these kinds of actions, and the manufacturer of said vehicle doing so because they don’t like the way you drive. One is a legal process, one is not. I agree that it’s not the manufacturers place to take people’s stuff away. Where does it end?

Yeah, it’s more a maroon color than red. It’d look miles better with black.

That’s because they rusted away to nothing unless you lived in the desert. Used to see old Toyota trucks all the time back in the 90’s (along with old Datsun/Nissans and Mazdas), but they’re all gone now.

Oh man, that’s a nice car. You’d pretty much be guaranteed to be the only one at the cruise night with that!

One of my favorite car magazine articles ever was about a long distance road test of one of these, along with (I think) a Nissan. The great Russell Bulgin spent several days, along with the also great Colin Goodwin, ferrying the Meat Puppets around Europe on a promotional tour, using a couple of these vans. I remember

See, I did a very similar build (skipped chrono, added suspension), including the black/red interior, but I didn’t know you could get black wheels as well. I went with the 20” Spyder wheels because they were less silver than the stock ones. (hashtag)themoreyouknow(shootingstar)

Carrera S. Black, 20” RS Spyder design wheels (closest to black wheels offered), manual transmission, PDCC (with whatever required options it includes), sport exhaust, “911” model designation, sunroof, and interior in black/Bordeaux red leather with the power sports seats. $121K.

I love these cars but not at that price. At that age you're getting into occasional-use only time, and I can think of better toys for twenty grand than an Audi sedan.

A friend of mine says that Edd China and James May should do a show together. I’d totally watch that.

Priced about market-these things have been strong for a while here.

I’m pretty sure I saw these exact same wheels on an ‘86 Caprice.
