True story. After years of both an E36 M3 and an E46 M3, my hand still falls to the centre console in my M2 to drop a window . . .

It’s aged better than I would have thought.  I’d argue it is better looking than a Consulier . . . Of course that’s fain praise.

My first turbo car, and my first Saab, was an ‘87 (or maybe ‘88) 9000. Fantastic car, if a little less weird than a 900. Unfortunately a catastrophic oil leak had me trading it in for my first new car ever (a ‘99 Mazda Protege).

Thanks, I hate this . .  .

I’d take the GTV in the lead shot for $75 . . .

This is a powerful and engaging piece.  Thank you.

I had an ‘87 CRX Si — last of this body style. Mine was quite clean, and when I sold it the new owner lovingly restored it. He was a younger guy, and he mercifully avoided all the atrocities foisted upon Hondas by enthusiasts in the early 21st C. Sadly he was t-boned and the car was destroyed. It was a “low speed”

FWIW, it appears that the beige Mark 1 in the initial photo also has the side marker lights from a Westmoreland built Rabbit.

This is brilliant.  Kudos to you . . .

I’ve accepted that my next DD will likely represent a paradigm shift.  Id3 (if it comes to Canada), Mach-E?  Whatever else may be available in 2024?  I certainly don’t care about a name.  I am excited by what these things promise.

And air cools the water in a water-cooled car, too.  So I guess we all get what want :)

“Air-cooled” Porsches are really “oil cooled”.

They sold very well . . . but they weren’t performers.  I don’t know if they were any worse than any other 1970s car that wasn’t a Toyota or Honda . . .

Would you ever do more than cruise in this though ? I guess maybe with the Tesla motors you would. But I imagine a Lincoln Continental with an EV driveline — or some other giant, four plus seater convertible.

I have to be honest in that I’ve had some angst about my love of cars, and my own environmental footprint. I’ve done fewer track days this year as part of that. I’m not ready to go cold turkey on the entire lifestyle, but I do wonder if this would be a good next direction for me . . . building some sort of EV.

In Canada, you can’t get near a non-rusted NA Miata for this price. So if you are searching for a fun, RWD, momentum car this would be ideal. I’ve driven a 924s, and it was lovely. I do remember cracking my shoulder into the B pillar more than once — not sure what that’s about as I’m not that big or tall.

An effective way for some people to deal with anxiety is to take control of a situation that is causing it. Greta has done that, admirably. I suspect she is learning more as a “drop out” than many teens her age who are in classes as we speak.

My mistake. I had my Zaphrozhets and Zastavas confused.

I never really understood advertising cars in the Eastern Bloc. I mean, it’s not like there was a surplus of vehicles available. Did anyone ever comparison shop?  Were Zastavas sold in “competitive” markets?

It’s perfect . . .
