The MvC series is pretty much known for button mashing being annoyingly effective against mid-level players. Anyone with a 0/1 frame, invincible or huge zoning (sentinel mainly) assist could just be called in constantly to deny most of the screen real estate to the opponent for the entire match.

I think songs mostly work in animated features as monologues. Heavy discovery/introspection (Nightmare Before Christmas "What is This?") or major plot point (Little Mermaid's devil's bargain scene with Ursula and Ariel) or finale. (like.. all of them)
