Really? I’m 6'2" and I can comfortably sit behind myself in my MK6. Maybe I’m underestimating how big a child seat is, but I’d be surprised if the GLI is significantly bigger in rear seat space.

Really only your first sentence. You’re not wrong about V8s often being undriveable in Miatas, I just don’t get what a real swapper is.

ITB K swap would probably be my choice but the idea of a V6 Miata is really interesting to me.

If Subaru wants to be Toyota they need to build cars that work more like Toyotas. They’ve already done a great job getting rid of most of the uniqueness of their cars, now they need to go full normie and dump I4s in everything. The AWD and CVTs can stay, normies like that.

You should visit SoCal craigslist. It might make you cry. A rust free and well maintained but sun-damaged 3rd gen 4x4 4runner with 150k miles is $5k all day. Unless it has a rear locker, then all the overlanding hipsters will pay $10k for it.
