I don’t think the fact that high speed causes higher emissions can really be contested. It’s whether or not it’s worth bothering to fix that’s the issue. There are certainly other sources of emissions that can be reduced, but maybe their thinking is that this is probably one of the least expensive ones?

Rolls Royce does some pretty amazing work. I watched a documentary about them and it was fascinating. Particularly the guy who does the pinstripes. He’s supposed to be one of the only people in the world who can do that? Talk about job security. I wonder what they pay him.

The BMW turbo 6's aren’t even that bad on fuel, either. The sound alone is worth the extra cost.

It has tax benefits, absolutely. But it’s still a charitable donation. My buddy actually thought a donation for $2 million actually reduces taxes by $2 million, which is hilarious. If you could actually choose where 100% of your tax money goes I think the federal government would have some much more serious budget…

It seems like they go back and forth, when I bought my GTI (2012) they were moving more towards the trim packages vs. individual options, but you could still get a loaded manual Golf, for example. Now you can’t get a loaded Golf period. I like that they still give you transmission choices on the sportier models…

Knowing every dealership I’ve been to, it’s not going to be something you can interact with in any way, so it seems like a bit of an expensive marketing exercise that will ultimately bring in a few people until they realize nobody who loves the Supra wants anything they sell.
