I was here to make the same nit. But I could see someone doing that change to make his story more tragic. Seems in line with the tone.

Anything that keeps me from suffering through a teenage Cyclops again in the movies’ desperate attempts to de-age their heroes for an audience that doesn’t actually know them as kids.

Honestly, it’s probably the easiest for them to use because it’s self-contained and the lucky break of it starring still-famous young adult actors as actual teens means that the few years it spent on the shelf actually makes it easy to position this film as taking place in the early 2000s.

One minor nit pick: in the comics Sam’s Cannonball powers don’t trigger the mine collapse, the mine collapse triggers his powers and save his and another miner’s life.

Maisie was asked about the reshoots during GOT s8 promos. “IDGAF” was her reply. A shame, because many have already said they would like her to continue as Rahne, whatever the future plans are.

I almost don’t care.. just super stoked it appears to be X-men content true to the source material.. plus we’ve been waiting like 20 years to see this on the big screen.

I’m hyped as fuck for this movie, so far Fox hasn’t screwed up any of the X-films that don’t follow the main timeline (deadpool/2 and Logan) so I’m excited. really hoping they include alternate cuts on the disc release since the first and second version of the movie have got to be way different with all those reshoots.

I was pretty big into the xMen and satellite books in the late 80s, and looking back, it’s remarkable how dense the Claremont stories are with text, thought bubbles and speech balloons....there was actually reading involved.

I hope it comes out, and I hope it’s actually good. New Mutants was my childhood so I’m holding onto hope, especially with the cast they have,

I’d watch that. We’ve seen Superman die and come back, we’ve seen him straight up murder people and become a villain, we’ve seen him grow up in the USSR... If the story is good why can’t he be a black trans woman? If the rest of the world can’t handle a fictional alien character being portrayed by a non-white human…

I dont care if they have to cut the budget to the point they have to hang out at a Vancouver Starbucks. I’ll still watch lol.
