The real fucking sad part of all of this is that if there was any sort of way I could of somehow squeezed my way in there and actually make some sort of actual cash on all of that dumb shit, I would of been there in a heartbeat, even knowing that it was going to implode in on itself while contributing to fucking up

Some money got laundered.

I work for the company that makes the mix. The citrus flavors are better than the pineapple, mango is also very good. Cherry has a cough syrup vibe and watermelon just isn’t my idea of an ice cream flavor. It fun when we do the annual new flavor development tests, a few weeks of daily soft serve eating. We also do a

I have never been able to understand this man’s appeal, even taken separately from his creepyness. He is painfully unlikable to watch in any of his roles, most of which, appear to be self-inserts.

I also don’t believe he waited (cuz lol how convenient) but also even if he did, waiting until the day someone turns 18 is STILL TF CREEPY. It’s always been so annoying to me that society is like well he was attracted to the child but waited until he was in the clear legally and thinks that somehow makes it better.

I was pretty insulated from his movies growing up (my parents were never interested), but friends were super insistent that we watch (and enjoy) them, claiming they were some kind of artistic genius.

Seeing Manhattan on tv when I was in high school awakened some kind of feminist film critic in me. I was a geek who read the Beauty Myth and Ms. on my own, but that movie took it to a whole other level.

God, didn’t Louis CK do something similar right around his downfall? I recall ( but thankfully never watched) a film with him being a fucking creep right around the time it was widely accepted that yes, the guy who does/says creepy shit is ACTUALLY a fucking monster.

Exactly. Any older man dating an 18 year old is super creepy and disgusting. An 18 year old that he knew as a child and had a relationship with continuously, that screams of long term grooming.

It was even creepier in some ways when he started casting replacement “hims” because he grasped that he was getting too grotesque and decrepit to pull the act off anymore. Watching actors who presumably didn’t want to get it on with thirteen year olds pretend these situations are normal is skin crawling.

Yeah. Even though all of this information has been available for years and years.

I agree. The Soon- Yi situation is already disgusting on its own. Even if we never heard from Dylan, he should have been ostracized and marked forever like Roman Polanski (but actually ostracized)

He helps justify their fantasies.

Bullshit. Even if he had "waited" (ugh), the person was his de facto stepdaughter. Throw in whatever qualifiers you want, it's disgusting and a line normal people do not cross.

Yup. Everytime something like this comes up with Allen, I’m always wondering, “Who needed more after he left his wife to marry her adopted daughter?”

He had been like a father to her. Six years of being her dad and then, bam, wife. It’s not about her age, it's the power imbalance.

Yup. There was a family photo in the documentary where Soon-Yi was wearing an oversized t-shirt and shorts. She looks like a child. She dressed like a child. She was a child.

Yikes that’s eerie.

The comment about “Woody Allen the steamroller” (as opposed to the public image of Allen as a neurotic) reminds me of how Orson Welles absolutely pegged him for what he always was decades ago.

This. The guy has SHOWN who he is. Ending up with a child you met when she was twelve is the creepiest goddamn thing in the world, and only a creepy creepy creep would be capable of it. That’s even leaving out the fact that he was supposed to be her goddamned father. If someone shows you who they are, believe it.
