With a “poor-me I’m a victim” sociopath parent or spouse, it becomes an ingrained habit to make excuses for the great guy and see victimization everywhere.
I also think she stigmatizes it because that’s all his father will allow. If she were to step outside “acceptable” explanations, it would unleash unfathomable anger and retaliation. She may not even be aware of that thought process, thinks she’s in control when she refuses his hand, etc.
Or depending on how deep the damage is, when he’s older he will block out how shitty his father was to his mother, and have a subconscious need to finally have a modicum of appreciation & respect from his father, while still hating the man, yet also making excuses for him and catering to him... I really feel for this…
And side-eye friends who’ve had emotionally abusive relationships and are dating guys whose exes are crazy/hostile... “oh no, she’s really out for him/he can’t see his kid/I give him advice” etc. I can’t save the world from manipulative predators though I wish I could. Timing is everything when sharing info that…
I agree. “I was on drugs and I was trying to be cute” - end of story. No need for “what’s it like....what’s it mean?!?” Even if all the questions were approved in advance, we just didn’t need to go there, nor to take her there.
This story leaves me speechless. The lack of MSM coverage is appalling. His other great accomplishment is manipulating the free press - major news outlets are even running with his preferred terms leak/leader to describe Comey’s not illegal not treasonous actions.
He carefully avoided the possibility of being accused of baseless accusations and defamatory statements...while being very clear using variations of ‘uncomfortable’ ‘confused’ and other terms suggestive of sketchy/questionable/pathological liar. He’s no one’s fool.
I must dissent as well. Hemsworth, cemented by his brilliance in Ghostbusters [“Don’t listen!” “I won’t” (covers eyes)]
So that definitely puts Eric at risk in this scenario. And his foundation seemed to be genuine in the early years, especially in comparison to his father’s. Curious whether Eric is just as morally bankrupt, or if he is just a naive useful patsy to his father. The IRS should go to town on him. There has to be at least…
It is! It’s a bizarre peek into a very different way of thinking.
The Forbes article is fascinating, it delves into the Eric Foundation - from it’s very clean inception and early operations (notably different from the DJT Foundation, ahem) to more recent less-clean changes.
This article doesn’t cover the horrors that Amy endured in the attack, and with the autopsy reference to preexisting heart & lung conditions it sounds very unfortunate, like a fight gone horribly wrong...but these girls monsters ripped Amy’s fingernails out, smashed her head against a sink repeatedly, punched her and…
I never saw that episode, I can’t believe that scene made it past however many people before it aired. That is just so many kinds of disgusting. And it’s just one more example of how Cosby was revered, Cosby got his way, Cosby was surrounded by sycophants on that show and network, due to the power of the almighty…
I agree, though the times he lives in also co-exist with the somewhat discordant never-ending love for Lynda Carter’s pinup portrayal. However, his description of Emma Watson “The prepubescent Watson is absurdly alluring” just felt wrong, including his acknowledgement of her as prepubescent. Um, just no, that word…
What’s interesting is that Caitlyn had breasts from 5 years of hormone therapy, right before they were dating. Distinctly feminine changes were obvious in photos mid 80s- early 90s, with a lack of facial hair from electrolysis, a more delicate nose and eyebrows, etc - a surprisingly ‘pretty’ look which all makes sense…
^^^^^ THIS. I don’t think Caitlyn is accusing Kris of financial abuse, I think Cait has had so many issues over the years, mixed with gratitude for Kris, etc that she does not see Kris’s actions in that way.
That gif captured the handshake so well, he’s lucky Macron didn’t shove him over with more force. He’s the inappropriate overbearing jokester neighbor/uncle/colleague with that handshake, in a role once considered leader of the free world. He doesn’t miss an opportunity to look like a petulant child. Fortunately…
The family friend’s anecdote refutes the notion that Wilson fabricated an unusual name for herself and tried to pass it off as “real”, it supports Wilson’s claim that she didn’t mislead people. I think the point is that 2 things can be true at the same time - her “real” name-legal being the name on her birth…
I give her a pass on that - as the significant other to a narcissist, you become humorless, the defender of the poor down-trodden narcissist and get the reputation of being the difficult unfriendly one, compared to that “great guy!” you’re with. Having grown up with that and been there in too many relationships, there…
