You sound like a loving, observant father who truly cares about his daughter’s well-being. It is a painful situation to work through and it sounds like she’s dealing with some new age-related hurdles.

“I take umbrage. I refuse to be the ashes.” I don’t think anyone expected that master-class level from her
I discovered Alias after it was on tv - as someone reminded me above, she was a delight with a great combo of intelligence and physicality. And then her recent shade-master print interviews. Movies...I don’t know, though 13 Going on 30 has a silly cheesy charm from her and Mark Ruffalo.
She was a delight in that! And it’s a great show to binge watch
Your friend is very fortunate they told her that, and wise to follow her gut instinct and ignore the “but I’m just funnin’ with them!” attitude. Getting humor from messing with others is not just a garden-variety jerk. That shows a lack of empathy, causing distress and getting joy from the pain of others...both traits…
It’s a tv-friendly version of WTeverlovinF, I’m surprised she could even put together syllables because I am speechless
This man has the codes to unleash an extinction-level, global death machine that will vaporize you and all your loved ones in an instant
There is his Article 5 game-playing with NATO - after the only time it has been invoked was in response to 9/11.
Yes it’s surprising/frustrating how even when we finally have an explanation for why we were ignored as children, there is still a part of us that remains affected and/or imagining a rewrite of childhood.
Only today’s new revelation that he wanted a Soviet post in the 80s to make nuclear arms deals. Oh, and to solve the Cold War in an hour. Does that help? (how does this happen every. single. day.)
I wonder what exactly were the lyrics of the song? It was supposedly about her birth, which makes it likely there were some flowery words in there for “accident”.
I agree. And there’s a difference between heavy partier and likely hardcore alcoholic with nothing else to do in life. As a society we’re just not good at recognizing even the basic signs of alcohol abuse and we’re quick to rationalize and excuse. A few days immersed in that lifestyle would be an eye-opener.
Interesting point. The phrase that caught your attention has another curious wrinkle, it was actually written as: “Of course, it is not a Democrate view of the event...”
This entire incident has me curious. The times I’ve seen the show, they’ve shown care and restraint when judging children and youths, and have often gone out of their way with kindness - judges have left their seats and gone up to the stage to comfort someone young who didn’t make the cut. It’s very much been like a…
Great summary of the show’s appeal. I think that’s Martin Mull in the tvland reunion pic...so your wish to have him back may have already come true.
I don’t think Pink was one of the ones caught up with luke’s tactics, I think she would have spoken out about him by now. She had problems with drug abuse as a young teen before her career, and legit therapists.
40ish me loved discovering this song & her catalog - such an insightful emotional songwriter while facing how messed up my childhood was & family is
Yes. She wasn’t shy about it, the L.A. character in the video has a physical resemblance & his distinct look. I love how the video makes the lyrics very clear with the chalkboard drawing
I find that pic distracting for the Kate Hudson/Heidi Klum effect, when more than one rhinoplasty makes you wonder if that’s really the look they were going for.
Yes, this story shows the weak insecure narcissistic side, and the very primitive drives of the sociopath, only the most basic needs like food (not complex things like empathy). Every one I’ve known was over-focused on food. Hence his description of chocolate cake along with the missile strike on Syria - 1) Never miss…
