Deep diving into the weeds of the banal inter-workings of cars is EXACTLY what makes car-sites awesome. Please dont read any of Torch’s tail light novels. Of all the gripes you could have had with this site, this is the hill in which you chose to die? Someone casts light on the subtle nuance of how your car works so

And thank you for your words. It IS wizardry when engineers use their knowledge to protect the people using the product.

Oh boy are you about to be disappointed. Not only have I now written about counterweights, but I’ve also written about blue anodized wheel cylinders:

This is just a headline. Don’t read into it. I welcome death.

It’s not about trucks, dumbass. It’s about rolling coal, which is just about the most senseless (and least masculine) thing you can do in said truck.

The best part is they drive like a massive douche and then they always, ALWAYS, wind up parked at the same light as everyone they passed.

I always thought people rolled coal because they were very insecure about their balls.

A lot of rednecks and hillbillies come to my city from out of town. One thing a lot of them have in common is a childlike impatience for city traffic. They hate sharing the road with other drivers, perilously tailgating everyone as they weave in and out of lanes in a beat up old pickup truck that certainly isn’t made

Rolling coal = manliness? Think we found a contender for “smallest penis” award.

You dont have balls unless your a rolling coal man. Wtf? Is this a thought process that exists in the minds of these people? What does filling the air with black soot for no reason have to do with balls? Someone please explain this because I just dont get it.

The utility trailer I got for $200, have tucked in my back yard, and have lifetime registration on means I do not need to drive a truck every day to work.

If a truck buyer honestly defends their purchase, I think most of us would move on with life. The problem is the truck buyers who are defending their God-given right to do whatever they want with no regard for the society they exist within and impact. This is not about trucks; it is about selfishness.

Exactly. Most people in the USA just buy stuff because they want it, and that’s the hallmark of an overprivileged society.

I agree with above, I also agree with a lot of the comments.

It’s a really tricky situation, but I do think we should be holding trucks to a higher standard for a lot of the reasons above. If people wanna Drive 3-ton over polluting vehicles empty all the time, make them feel it in their wallets.

Honestly, I can’t wait

Is a truck an appropriate purchase for the majority of people that buy them?

Did you read the article or just skip it to post that?

I live in upper midwest blizzard and rust country. There is a uniform for men in the states i live in and surround my state. Camo sweatshirt. goatee, baseball cap and pick up truck. It is a cultural uniform. It defines you. There are slight variations but not many. Pickup trucks here are bought like you buy tighty

I think that part of this is that - through experience - humans have learned to pick out signs of a bad/aggressive driver. If I see a moron driving like that rushing up on me, I’d probably move out of the lane if I had time or I would ease off the gas/tap the brakes when he goes to cut me off. Because I can see his

Looks like the Tesla responded about the same way as a human who was only paying half-attention. Panic, jerk to the side, recover, continue. Agree - it worked. And the driver is a bag of dicks for camping there in the first place.

I think it’s fair to say the Tesla avoided the collision, but an average human driver, making average human decisions would have likely avoided the collision as well and in a safer manner (by something as simple as lifting off the gas for a moment).
