I think the engine was still mounted transversely though so the weight of the V8 only made understeer worse. Think of it: you could have an E39 540i or M5 instead at that time.

I love these little cars and seriously considered one for my commute (70 miles round trip) but my wife told me it was too dorky. I thought it would be a perfect car to have to complement an M3 for weekends.

I would happily volunteer a day at AMG, BMW’s M division, or at Porsche. That would be awesome.

I’m friends with a Ferrari owner who was at this event. He drives a Ferrari almost every day to our office except in winter.

I like the 718 Boxster more than this, but I would take a 944 over the early Boxsters with those awful headlights.
