All I remember is a lot of tv shows ie. Fargo & True Detective switching to other categories so they had a better chance of winning awards. I do not know exactly how this is done, but I have heard it being reported before. For example Mini Series or Limited Run vs. Drama.

I see more and more filmakers doing this to avoid going up against the heavy hitting drama category. The trailers and reviews did push home that this was a quasi-comedic film so I understand, but still. Its a bold move that kept Trainwreck and Spy at bay. Touche Ridley, touche.
