I think that is kinda what’s been lost on some who think this show was just about rich women with rich people issues. Abuse is abuse and abusers follow a classic pattern most times. Her leaving might have been easier financially, but that money sure as hell didn’t make it any less dangerous.

I thought it was more about “all kinds of people are secretly unhappy/domestic violence happens in all kinds of households, even rich white ones” and also “women gotta be there for each other, stop holding each other to impossible standards and stop tearing each other down” 

Yeah, um everyone in this thread is making me really glad I’m already fat. Like the pressure to stay thin almost sounds worse than the pressure to lose weight.

I’m already fat and have droopy boobs so I’m pretty sure my post-baby body will just be a lateral move.

Certain of his books are really, really good. Others were written during cocaine and alcohol-fueled binges (Cujo, Tommyknockers) that they really don’t hold up well. King apparently doesn’t remember writing Cujo, since he was blackout drunk during most of the writing process.

I’ve been thinking about reading Stephen King recently. I have never read any of his books before. What do you all think? Are the books really good or just popular? Any favorites?

Huh. I know (or knew — it’s been a few years) a couple of people in industry who have worked with her and had nothing but wonderful things to say. And she’s big into dog rescue, which makes me like her a lot.

I consider myself a jaded pessimist, but for some bizarre reason I find the two of them charming, and am not even bothered by their hardware commercials.

As someone who was only able to access emojis beginning a few years ago, and now uses them obsessively like someone’s dorky aunt (which I am), there can never be too many emojis.
