I have always taken it as a given, and frequently get a weird, uncomfortable response from the guy when I do it. Depending on the reaction I’ll sometimes cover the tip with cash or say I’ll pay for the cab to wherever we go next or offer to get us drinks/coffee... I’ll even get out ahead of it and if the guy wants to

have you ever considered that men don’t come forward for help because they are afraid of being laughed at, or mocked, or somehow made to feel less of a man?

In this case, the probability is nil, as the Good Shepherd shelter is geared to serve women with young children (looks like up to 5th grade).

No, I mean that shelters are going to be selective about how they refer, and are going to be scrupulously careful about not getting conned.

Do these guys realize that as soon as they say something like this, we all get VERY interested in their romantic histories?

Brit-English and American-English have a few quirky gaps that you only learn about when you say them in the wrong company (“rubber”, “fanny” and “pants” being a few that got me).

From what I recall, it’s Obama standing next to a sign that marks where an Alaskan glacier was in 1961, the year he was born. It’s showing how it’s receded.

Short but sweet: I used to have a weird, oversized flannel-lined pullover windbreaker (I don’t know) from lacrosse. I got it during 7th grade, and then during the summer used it to haul clean laundry up from the laundry room, since the laundry room was right next to the closet with all the coats in it. I used it for

Where was the sex worker one? Link!

Particularly relevant in Iceland, where there is an actual register to check you’re not marrying your cousin.

I think it was a combination of having a long running time and being able to run it like a secluded boarding school, many incredibly famous and well-respected older actors who the younger kids knew were to be admired and obeyed, the actual structure of the story along school-term lines, and then the fact that it was

Do you think he knows Kurt Russell is his dad?

Does the guy on the right know that his dad is Kurt Russell?

Start drinking.
