I wish it was, it probably doesn’t have to be walnut specifically but, that seems to be what everyone is using.   Basically because there is no port injection on the engine to clean out the intake/heads,  the valves and intake ports get enough build up on them to throw a code. 

Same issues as the 335i.
They have a lot of issues with a low failure rate if that makes sense... and they are all expensive.

The water pump and turbo failure require dropping the front sub frame to get to.

The high pressure fuel pump and injectors have some issues.

The head needs to be walnut blasted every 50k miles

When I owned a modified Legacy GT; my LGT was for less money faster than the mustang gt of the era. Now the subarus can’t hardly fight in their own weight bracket let alone up a bracket or two like they used to.

yeah honestly i  think someone would pay 65 on looks alone... i have no idea if it’s reliable, quick or anything of that sort... but i feel like someone would love to call it their bmw ferrari and still get 50mpg or whatever. 

Yeah it takes manufacturers much longer than 1 year to iron out the problems. So buy it but make sure all the recalls and warranty work is kept up with.
