thank you - it’s embarrassing when men don’t know the difference but unforgiveable when women don’t. You OWN THE PARTS, know what they are and what they do.

The way they dissected the studies was so helpful - I always learn from them how to analyze any article or study on health that seems like it's over simplifying (hint: it usually is.)
Don’t condemn all GenXers because Chappelle is an asshole. Let’s leave the inter-generational fighting in the 20th century, please. He doesn’t speak for me. And we’re all aging, btw, unless the sweet relief of death has spared you from hearing about all of this in the first place.
So happy to see Jonathan Richman is in it! His song about them is one of my favorites of his. Might risk going to the theater for this one... guessing it will be lightly attended, sadly.
Agreed! It is the completely wrong breed to have in a hectic environment like the governor’s mansion/office. (I have a shepherd/husky mix.)
He also owns a shipping and fulfillment center and a merchandising company that makes his own stuff but for others too. It sounds boring but can bring in a lot of money with little overhead.
An even cheaper solution is a bottle like the ones they give new moms who can’t use tp after giving birth (looks like a sports water bottle). When the tp shortage was in full swing last year, it came in handy. Not necessarily a permanent solution but you can see if you like the experience without a big investment. You…
I lived in SF and now Oakland - that’s a weekly test of the emergency broadcast system in case of earthquake and/or tsunami. If a disaster happened, the loudspeaker would give people directions on what to do in English, Spanish, and Mandarin.
Netflix recommended Friends to me after I watched the docu-series The Keepers about the murder of a nun who taught in a girls’ school in the 60s after she started looking into students’ stories of sexual abuse at the school. I guess they thought I needed the levity as a counter-balance?
Too many places here in CA think nacho cheese sauce is cheese sauce fit for french fries. Or they melt shredded cheese for cheese fries. It’s a travesty. I make my own cheese sauce on occasion - the key is to add a bit of powdered sodium citrate to make it totally smooth.
Nitpicky point - it’s “Across 110th Street,” which I will never forget because of Bobby Womack’s awesome theme song.
If what I’ve observed in the corporate world translated to cartoon Springfield, his incompetence would mean he would have been promoted several times by now and making an enviable salary doing his job badly.
Whisk some of the hot broth into the sour cream in a separate bowl so you can really combine them well without all the other ingredients getting caught in the whisk and warm up the sour cream more gradually. Then add it to the soup (that’s what I do for stroganoff and when I add a roux to a gravy.)
So many signs in Chicago did this for their businesses I got worn out taking pictures of them when I lived there. My favorite was on a diner: “Ham” off-the-bone
The weird thing about the roll call was how the states who had speakers in the forefront without a mask and people in the background with masks staring straight into the camera and not moving made the speakers look like kidnap victims. I think it was NY that had two WOC speaking and behind them was a middle-aged white…
I find that I benefit from the opposite of trying to “clear your mind” - examining what I’m thinking and why and whether those thoughts are even worth paying attention to has done me more good than my failed meditation attempts. I also have found that doing exercises that require me to do a lot of focusing and…
Ooo - artichoke plates! A plate for a veggie with an even shorter season than corn! I bet they’re lovely.
I found a set of these for $2 at a local resale shop (newer versions are available) - a slightly elevated experience if you have room for a small dish that serves no other purpose:
The Treatment with Elvis Mitchell is fantastic, interviews with filmmakers. For a different take, Placing Faces talks to casting directors. Switchblade Sisters features women directors talking about a particular film and their own work.
