I’m currently playing the “trying to conceive” game and so have fallen down the rabbit hole of birth-photography Instagram pages and keep seeing these posts about how skin-to-skin is SO IMPORTANT, but that many women don’t get it after a c-section because the doc whisks little bebe away while mama’s coming off…

I grew up and went to school in El Cajon - my mother still lives there just blocks from the location of the shooting - so this hits really close to home. What a fucking horrible tragedy.

The fact that only women are expected to date “out of their league” hadn’t really occurred to me, but I’m a pretty awkward frumpy blah-body myself and have dated some dudes in my life I considered to be WAY too attractive for me, so who knows.
