That’s how the mind works though. Real change usually takes a long time where an idea is churning in the back of your mind and then bam you are able to actually take steps to change.

I feel like I need to redo this next year since I’m in a better position to change things now that we are no longer in Los Angelos and we bought a home.
Regular banks were useful when we’d get really large checks for reimbursement for moving from work and we could just deposit it at the bank no problems (And we needed that money). I do have ally for savings because it’s slightly better than the nonexistent interest that wellsfargo gives (and all other regular banks).…
Awesome info! Wish I had this like 15 heads ago but who knows if it would have helped. Young and dumb tend to go together!
That’s cool. To me both private ivy and non sound like the state school can do the job just as well. But we also have great state school options that are greatly respected where we live or the state I’m considering moving to if need be. I honestly feel Ivy League schools aren’t what they used to be and I’d rather…
The schools available here and the other state I’d consider moving to have great state options that aren’t that bad price wise. (And no going to a state school out of state, you might as well go to a private school paying out of state fees!)
It’s nice to know about this but I’m going to guess that most people don’t have that kind of money (nor other family members) but maybe someone does have that one great aunt that’s rich and that’s all you’re going to get from them is a superfeed college fund.
I can see how this happened to us. We just assumed everyone spent money like we did. And even if we KNEW they spent money we just assumed it was in every category when the reality was it was limited to this one category or two which makes a huge difference. And lifestyle expectations that were thrown on as as much…
That sucks. Sometimes you have to tough it out till you can leave on your own terms. There’s a lot of bs that happens at work. One of the many reasons we want to do early retirement.
Nice. We might do that for breakfast time since hub is always running late (he just doesn’t make time for it but hey that’s what workarounds are for!)
Crockpot twice a week for two people = all lunch and dinners DONE. We do need to find new recipes since we’ve only been using 2 for the past year, but trust me, if it’s already made NO ONE complains. Already made is the best meal ever. We pair it often with rice we made using a rice maker in batches of about 2 per…
No. He started seeing the company counselor to start documenting all the bs they put him through. And he started looking for a job double time. He already started looking for a new one about a few weeks in but took over a year to land one closer to home. In his industry it’s like that. Gotta spend about a year or…
It isn’t worth the jail time. Just leave with 2 weeks notice when you get a better offer. That what he does when things get weird. Which is usually when the ship starts to really sink and managers want anything to pick on because fixing the actual problems aren’t an option. Making ones up though, they can do that…
It was the lowest level of clean room that meant you couldn’t eat your lunch there but I don’t think the suit was needed. There were other clean rooms where he had to wear the suit at the other job he had previois to that one. Or they (his superiors) just didn’t follow all the rules which is also a huge possibility.…
Most were. There was one that wasn’t horrid but her boss’s boss was and that got tricky and another that wasn’t horrid as well but he got brain cancer and they didn’t like him spending all that time at the doctor’s office. Different companies.
In most of my hub’s jobs his managers usually had him write up their review of him. Or they just skipped the whole yearly review to begin with. A lot of companies aren’t very good in doing these things properly.
Hub once got told in a review that he didn’t walk with a sense of urgency. I’m not sure how my hub responded to that and I’m not sure there’s any way to actually respond to that well.
But then again that job didn’t want him eating in the cafeteria and wanted him to eat at his desk. The issue was he was talking to…
It’s still free money to your fav twitch streamer so I just set up a reminder on my calendar in case I’m not watching for some reason to remind myself.
I mean it’s just another perk that makes it way more worth it even though I don’t buy as much stuff as I used to and use the free 2day shipping. I need to go through whats on prime TV (or whatever they call it). There are some other perks that went live recently but I didn’t get a chance to take a look at. I want…
I need to get my free preview month book too if they’re still doing that. Once I’m done unpacking and putting everything away (and then going overseas to see family and go to a wedding) I will have time to breath again and maybe get some reading in. Maybe. I might be a little overwhelmed!
