Good to know. The house we have under contract (fingers crossed we close on the 28th) has an actual laundry room and I’m finally able to do laundry in my own home since that first really expensive apartment in LA that we had. Also haven’t had a dishwasher in like 3 years. Gotta remember how to take care of those

Awesome. Thanks. I’ll try this out. :)

There’s a point where you just have to live your life and keep an eye on your credit report. Many times it has nothing to do with you and is the fault of a store or, most recently, my college where I used to work part time being hacked. Got free credit monitoring though for a bit so that’s nice.

So they can’t just charge that extra fee when they feel like it, it has to be during certain times, correct?

How is the shower spray afterwards working? And what kind are you using?

The worst part is when manangement is the manipulative problem. Especially if the people who originally hired you leave. That’s part of the reason why hub started looking for a new job. The other part was because I wanted a shot at having a house and being closer to family so that made it a little harder and took

I have to immediately cover myself with lotion mixed with meds to deal with my eczema and get all hot and squeezing before or after putting it on is a big no no. So probably not going to happen with me. But I can make my hub do it since he doesn’t have that issue. I’m interested in the shower spray too. Not that

Yea. Because the point of what I wrote was to make people feel bad for me. I’m sorry you haven’t had health insurance for 5 years but this isn’t a pity contest. The fact that our healthcare is set up the way it is that it allows you to go without for 5 years is bs and needs to change but your tone towards me is

Many plans are unlimited and the ones that aren’t I can’t imagine it being that much more for those minutes. That’s a huge difference between phone plans when I got my first cell phone in 2000 versus now. Now it’s all about the data and before it was all about the minutes (and the minutes and texts).

Nah. I tried to watch clips of it and it caused me way more grief than anything in this forum. :)

I never said ignore it. I said it wasn’t an appropriate item to be hashed out on a presidential debate when there are bigger things to hash out in that forum.

I don’t blame you, I thought the same thing too.

I don’t see this as an issue with me. Mainly because of location, being busy, eating at fairly cheap places, and not having a lot of friends on the rare occasion I do meet up with someone it’s not a problem to pay their share, especially if I know they’re not at a high point money speaking (though in many cases

That is awful. Even if you can afford it, they shouldn’t be asking for cash. Cash won’t solve their problem of needing more cash unless it’s helping them get a degree or vocation where they can better themselves. Otherwise it’s just solving a never ending problem of not budgeting properly or not advancing in their

That is a very sad state of affairs.

That is a very disturbing fact to me as well.

My understanding is that they get the judgment paid for by the show. According to the tiny print at the end of the show (as reprinted on Wikipedia) there is a fund that they get paid out. Any amount won is deducted from that fund and given to the person they won it. Then the amount left is divided equally between

Limit the amount and the time for the carryforward as well as allow for exceptions due to usefulness of the company and need. I honestly didn’t realize that you could do this until the tax documents were leaked. I understood that a loss could be taken out against your gains in stocks so your overall amount taxed

I don’t hate raising taxes. Even if it is on myself. But I do think there should be more paid by the extreme wealthy. With great power comes great responsibility. Also, there’s a point where when does enough become enough?

One thing that is interesting is that I’m noticing a lot more people buying into the idea

My understanding would be that in this special case they would want to tax it like regular income, not that they want to tax ALL capital gains as regular income.

Personally I think of it as a bonus and I think bonuses should be taxed differently than regular income but still based on where you are in the tax brackets
