Oh yea, I think taxes in general are a very good topic to discuss in these debates but like you said carried interest seems like such a small detail to waste time bickering over when the meat and potatoes are way more important to discuss in tax reform.

That’s cool. This article is referring to lending circles though which is different than Lending Club since it’s much smaller groups that are doing the lending. Lending Club does look interesting if I ever have extra money to take bigger risks one day.

Glad it’s worked out for your bf. I first found out about it

Interesting info but I don’t see how that’s something of concern at the presidential debates. Are we really stuck on such minutiae when we have larger policies to debate over? Maybe it’s just me. Probably a good thing I skipped watching the debates. Save myself some grief.

I wonder how often someone doesn’t pay it back and what kind of hassle that is to get your money back (if you even can). Otherwise I love the idea. But I watch too much People’s Court to not think of the downsides of loaning anyone money.

Honestly it’s just as hard for me to find my wallet in my purse as it is my phone. But I know people who won’t use Amazon because they fear their info being stolen. I just don’t find it convenient enough to take the risk (but I do find it convenient enough to do online shopping and take that risk!)

Ugh. I like my phone to be a distanced from my credit or debit card information as much as possible. It’s bad enough if they steal my phone but then to have access to that info isn’t something I’m into. Now I have the app for Starbuck’s on my phone which I reup using gift cards I get or I login to my PayPal and pay

    Because they told me.

This is great news. While many use these cards as a way to curb spending, many more use them instead of having a checking account because, for a wide variety of reasons, they can’t or don’t want one. It made me really sad to see friends of mine having to use them when I knew they were getting hit with a ton of fees,

Ugh. I’ve asked a zillion questions to our loan guy and also went over all the digital paperwork before hub signed them and actually caught a mistake that still isn’t fixed. It has us as not first time home buyers when we definitely are first time home buyers.

Yes, but only up until cash becomes obsolete.

Ilegals aren’t usually doing the work he is. He’s technically competing for work Americans want to do so he’d be permanent competition for other Americans if he gets his card. Illegals are doing work Americans don’t want to do. If he wants to do manual labor then going the illegal route would work for him too.

My husband, mostly Irish German so basically he’s really tall for Irish with really red hair, enjoys vodka and eating his potato and honestly most real Irish just want to drink. They drink the good stuff at first and then move to the cheaper booze later in the night when they can’t taste the difference anymore. They

We live in a small town where Costco and most stores we shop at are about 50 minutes away. When we first got here we were going there every week, sometimes both Saturday and Sunday (maybe even also on a weekday). Now that we are more settled we are trying to go only once in a weekend and only every other week. That

Yea I remember doing this post college a lot. Thankfully also not in that situation anymore but I’m embarrassed how little time ago that was when we stopped having to do that. But hey, I’m under contract for a house now! Wouldn’t have happened if we didn’t start doing this right about a year add some months ago.

You can still budget and expect to pay it when it’s due on the credit card and not right when the debit goes through. This would be more a problem for me for an old credit card that may not have automatic pay the balance set up on it. Then I’d have a late payment and that’s a huge problem. I made sure that I took

Thanks for that! I just went in and took off a credit card or debit card that I don’t want it using. I checked and it used the correct card when it renewed this August so that’s good but it’s also good I took off that card. I still have two cards on there but they’re both set to pay off the balance so that’s fine.

Yep. Some friends were there for the courthouse ceremony (no family because we were on the opposite side of the country) then went to lunch afterwards and then to our apartment to play guitar hero and then later I had dinner with friends who came in from out of town for some other reason.

I don’t but I am happy to know this in case I do start doing this in the future once the house is closed on and we are good with our new responsibilities!

I’m sure they will. I just kinda feel a little bad! I’ll get over it in time, especially with the event being so far away.

I think we can do this one. I limit and plan out what we are spending and this year I have the added difficulty of closing on a new (first) house hopefully Oct 28th and I need to also budget out a washer and dryer as the sellers are keeping those, a couch, and at least a dining room possibly a new bed and bed frame
