I didn’t have many opportunities to haggle much this month. I went to a convention but didn’t buy much and the items were exclusives to the convention so no haggle there but I only bought two things so that was amazing in itself. (And I got the tickets just before the prices went up so yay).

Just a heads up, got my Costco magazine and they explain the new card a lot more. Turns out if you are an executive member and cardholder you get 2% for the card and a separate 2% for the executive membership so a total of 4% cash back. But the cashback rewards are given only yearly in February so that’s kinda weird.

Oh wanted to specify one huge exception: I love hand made gifts and cards. Those trump my wish list and cash by an epic amount any day. (And there are a few people who are just really good at finding stuff for steals and are really good at figuring out a nice gift grouping (much like a lootcrate) and those are

I like gift cards for the stores they have registries with or one that I know they love to go to. I just try to put myself in their position and see what would be nice for me and go with that.

Amazon wish list is my go to for friends and family who think cash is too impersonal. It isn’t, but the wish list works too and either way I’m happy. I also use wish lists on Amazon for people I don’t see in person (though if the people I did see in person had them I'd so use them because gift giving is stressful!)

What Amex fees? The cards no longer work at all and they shouldn’t have any fees. The only fee they ever paid was the membership and that stays the same through the transition. Now if you had a non Costco Amex card that’s a different thing but they can always just cancel it if that’s the only reason they had one was

Oh yea I’m probably going to get the Costco citi card to get the 2% and save $55 on renewal though I haven’t found anything that specifies that you only pay $55 for the card version or if they make you pay $110. We may end up calling to see about the details or if there's a short/no line at the member services desk

Interesting perspective. But my regular old Visa cashback card will give me 2% back in cash so I guess I get the best of both worlds. Though that one card that is giving 5% cashback is tempting...

I am SO happy about the change. I was counting the days until they switched and my wallet will love it even more. So much more cash back! And my cc updated to include 2% cashback from places like Costco!

I’m not using my own machines so that may be a big part of it. Stupid apartment living. But still my sister accidentally killed one of my shirts that got mixed into her laundry while visiting her by putting it in the machine though I’m going to take a stab it was not on tumble low and instead was on volcana hot for a

Well sometimes what you say is the groundwork for when someone they can’t say no to tells them to go get help. I’m pretty sure that’s what happened to someone I knew.

Ah. I have a super active imagination so I temper it with trying to only think things that I actually know, like try to get a job you may like that pays as well if not better first before you allow yourself to enjoy the idea that you can’t. (Being prone to anxiety I have to live by this approach or else I’d die by way

I don't get this at all. Why can't I just order it on my phone when I'm out of a product? Assuming it's not cheaper to grab at Costco during my weekly runs that is. I don't get the point of all this!

Yea they don’t. And accent walls aren’t nearly as popular. At least two walls if not all are done in the pop of color. I try to catch up on hgtv and diy when I can since I ditched cable. (When we do 10k/half marathon we get a hotel and I veg out on them during my sore time the day after).

That’s a really good option but also maybe make an excel file and calculate the difference you’re making versus the fun job and see what kind of returns you get if you take that difference and invest it in something like an index fund in 10-15 years and see if that changes your mind. Then also look at your retire date

This may change if the VR is way better on the PS4. But time will only tell for that one and I’m not going to spend money on it until the winner emerges.

I have both and while I enjoy the PS4 hardware and interface more I just can’t find friends to play with on the PS4, both friends I know IRL and just people I meet online. Also, trophies suck, gamerscore is super addictive. (I also own both PS3 and Xbox360 and half way through the PS3 life cycle I switched pretty much

I wouldn’t game anymore if I didn’t have a console. It’s not comfortable where I live to sit at a desk and I prefer being on my couch playing on my TV without any extra effort. Also, I like to know a game is going to work on my console and if it doesn’t work it’s because the programmers suck and not because I need new

A new job takes forever to land sometimes. Start now and keep banking the boring job money so you have as many options as possible.

If the instruments are hobbies you do have to be honest about how much time you can devote to them and how much joy you can get out of them versus buying something cheaper. But if it’s your livelihood or even a part time gig that brings in a decent amount of money then it needs to pass other tests to be considered but
