I attended an MLB alumni fundraiser that Costas MC’ed, and he did an onstage Q&A with the MLB alumni present for the event. Why would Portlandia do so? I’m a Portland resident and I loathe the show but I recognize that its a fucking comedy show and I don’t expect it to fully explore a region’s issues anymore than I expect the Big Bang Theory to explore the underbelly of STEM academia. I would argue that Parks and Recreation is also a perfect Obama-era show (a government made up of competent, likeable people seems impossible today), but other than that, great article.
