My immigrant husband didn’t understand what was going on in the town of Vulcan in the latest episode of American Gods. I tried and failed to explain it, then I was just like “they’re a town of Republican voters”, which I think got the message across.

Agreed. After the election, there was a lot of analytical pieces on how Trump voters were not all necessarily horrible racist/sexist people.

No Republican, politician or voter, gets the benefit of the doubt, ever again. They are all deeply complicit in this complete abandonment of responsible government. There is no “both sides do it” - one side is completely and utterly evil, and the other side is just doing the best that they can.

I haven’t been able to watch political fiction since Trump got elected, especially not shows like The West Wing. I can’t watch competent fictional presidents while we have this complete failure in charge.
