Nah, it’s alright, because his father was the legendary Cardinals announcer, so he’d be totally fine with it.

I think the issue is that we (fairly or unfairly, I don’t know) compare him to his dominant regular season numbers. He’s still an effective pitcher, and going 6 innings of 3 run ball isn’t horrible for the playoffs. The bats just didn’t come alive, and it highlights how damn good Straburg really is.
I’m biased because I love baseball, so I disagree with the boring part, but I would agree that baseball can be boring to watch live, especially if you’re a fan of the game and enjoy watching pitch location and some of the nuances that are harder to catch at a live stadium (unless you’ve got enough bank to drop on…
Outta curiosity, do those NYC stadiums ban outside food and drink? Because at Dodger stadium, you can bring outside food, and even drinks (non-alcoholic), as long as they’re sealed.
Forgive my ignorance, but why bring the RS6 Avant and not the RS4 Avant to the States? Wouldn’t the RS4 potentially sell better since its price point would be more palatable to a wider audience?
Everyone has a hard-on for Hader. He’s like the posterboy for relief pitchers.
I don’t see an forward-thinking analytics guy like Zaidi hiring a notoriously loose Maddon. It sure as heck would be fun, though!
Ever since my Kinect died a few years back, I’ve been looking for a way to remotely activate my Xbox without the controller or physically walking up to it. Thanks for sharing!
The funny part is that my intrigue and fascination with churning credit cards is what inadvertently helped me understand the concepts of debt, credit, and credit scores better.
You’re absolutely right. When I say debt, I guess I mean general credit utilization. I do not keep balances. But the point remains, she is fearful of credit cards.
The worst financial advice comes courtesy of my mother (and I’m sure many other 80's kids born to baby boomer, immigrant parents can vouch for this): AlL dEbT iS bAd, DoN’t UsE cReDiT cArDs.
Kraft Parmesan shakers will always be near and dear to my heart. My elementary school lunches typically consisted of plain pasta, and yes, a mini-Kraft shaker. Nothing else.
While I don’t disagree with the notion that the MiLB should exist (largely listed here by Burneko and by many of the commenters), I think the point of Sawchik’s article is that much of this should be able to be recreated in labs and closed settings. His book The MVP Machine outlines a lot of the new technologies…
Another advantage to a pediatric ER is that they will oftentimes have “child life specialists” (or at least, that’s what they’re called at my hospital) to help keep the kids more calm and relaxed, whether through books, music, video games, or movies.
All too many people do that as a recreational thing. It’s not just a cocktail for suicide attempts.
I’m just sad that he seems to be another Yao Ming type story. All the talent and physical gifts in the world, without the knees and lower lower body to go with it. I’m hopeful he regains some form eventually, but based on his last 19 months, it’s not looking good.
FanGraphs had a fantastic write up that delved into the changes he’s made - the biggest one being that he took a lot more velo off of his slider. That trip to the IL before the season started may have been a blessing in disguise - he realized that instead of throwing harder, he had to take something off of his slider.…
We got so red by the end of the series that I genuinely forgot how red he already was without alteration. Thanks for the reminder.
But they do.
I was infuriated that they never explained this. His brother is also nowhere to be found.
