Interesting article - I’m actually quite impressed by how little your electricity usage went up. I’m guessing you would typically spend more than $80 a month for gasoline for your various cars and bikes.

The only car shows I still go to (when there’s not a pandemic) are Radwood and anything pre/post an actual event on a track/rally stage. Those parking lot meets are often circlejerks, and I wasn’t much into them, even as a teen. The boomer meets are generally terrible too.

Car purchases are rarely logical. The American road trip is a romanticized concept. Whether people actually take them or not, it’ll be hard for some to imagine buying a car that isn’t at least capable of road tripping without long delays for charging.

the problem is that what you call “the best” tend to only be people who went to the most expensive university, not who is actually the most talented. (since resumes don’t really show how good an applicant is, rather what their pedigree is.) diversity would be less of an issue if employers actually interviewed…
