If I recall correctly up until a few years ago we -- the US -- were also falling back on the last Sunday in October, as I remember that extra hour of partying was a godsend for twentysomething me on Halloween weekend.

Perhaps owed to my rather strained relationship with my brother, the ending of Brothers, specifically the swimming part, had me BAWLING. Easily the hardest I’ve cried during a video game. I tear up just thinking about it.

I’m deeply annoyed by the fact that Love, Simon exists in this universe but the Lodges can use The Shining patterns in their lakehouse without any self-awareness.

Since it aired its finale last week hence not back tonight, I have to give a huge shoutout to Paramount’s Waco miniseries. It started off rough, resting on little more than a captivating performance by Taylor Kitsch, but it came together in the latter half to be a truly excellent television show. I highly recommend it.

Most restaurants are making way more money selling booze than food. Profit margins are generally tiny for meals but huge for alcohol. That drink menu is always right on the table for a reason.

Even though I was quite sure he wasn’t one of his victims, I was still like “Norman why are you doing this on a second floor balcony OH GOD WHAT’S HE DOING WITH THAT CHAIR?!”

Okay but that’s clearly not him? Even someone who hasn’t been aware of what he’s looked like for years could easily see the author photo and video differ. Or use context clues to tell it’s not him. Or look at the video poster. Or....

In elementary school my 3rd grade class did a play for black history month, the concept being that two children would travel back in time via phone booth -- it was the early 90s y’all -- to meet famous black Americans portrayed by class full of white children. It went over fine at the time, but in retrospect I have

On the subject of fried chicken flavored potato chips, Walkers and surely other brands of UK and Euro companies make chicken-flavored chips that basically taste like chicken skin, aka delicious.

I’m not here to whitesplain anything, but the FACT that shit is generally much worse for POC is exactly why the “happy” ending works so well, the tension — black dude surrounded by dead white people, he’s fucked! — and the release. And sorry but “I respect your opinion” is some seriously condescending white nonsense.

Yep, that moment killed in a sold out DC theater

Yeah I don’t understand why they cut it back to 60 now. Though to be perfectly honest, while 90 minutes is cute at home it’s a bit much standing in the same place in a crowded bar.

Adding it to chili and, especially, bolognese makes all the difference. I’m kicking myself for forgetting to include it in the red sauce I used in the lasagna I’ve been eating literally all week.

That WAS the Central City CC Jitters.

I swear there’s a conspiracy to convince everyone that Billie Lourd is a good actress. Just because her mom was fantastic doesn’t mean we need to laud her as well. Give me Chad Radwell any day.

I’ve had my Instant Pot since last November and while I’ve definitely enjoyed it I haven’t been completely convinced until I used it to make risotto a couple weeks back. It’s just SO EASY and the results are always fantastic.

Truer words have never been spoken, and I think this is one thing that kept me from finishing the Oracle games as well. I preferred Minish Cap immensely.

I appreciate you posting this, namely because I couldn’t remember what Ni No Kuni-derived name I used to call my cat: Baby Bunting!

And she was great on Corporate a week or so ago! A true Mann-aissance!

More importantly, the diner where Andrew and David eat is the same one from Review’s “Pancakes, Divorce, Pancakes” amongst many many other shows, Mad Men and (I think) Justified off the top of my head. According to Google it’s Frank’s Restaurant in Burbank, which is indeed a hugely popular shooting location.
