It's one of King's few straight-up downer endings, at least where his novels are concerned. I loved it.

Nicely done, Zack. Much of what you wrote resonated with me, including King's works hard-wiring my own writing, albeit as a boring old journalist and currently un-agented author.

The Boogeyman and Sometimes They Come Back are fun ones from that collection. I was actually reading some Skeleton Crew the other day- Survivor Type and Gramma still hold as two of King's best short stories.

Pet Semetary is my favorite of King's books, and still holds up well today. Even with all the outre comic book horror shit it delves into, it's a mature study on grief, with a very realistic and touching relationship at the center that makes the horrors all the more awful.

Then they'll scrape the barrel for John Saul around season 9.

I remember Rubik and a little singing group called Menudo that sang during interludes on the show . I also do a mean Max Wright impression. Just the ALF one not his legal troubles later on.

How did I miss these? My 80s-ness knows no bounds.

Anything that sheds light on Satan's cabana boy is not a bad thing.

Nah, it's cool. Two of my closest friends hold a similar opinion to you about Pee-Wee being one of their favorite 80s movies. They love it and still reference it today, and have passed that love down to their own kids.

Horses for courses, but I still hold the original BttF in high regard. Love it to pieces. It's the quintessential 80s movie.

The Real GB holds up fairly well…the Boogeyman and Samhain episodes are still good, creepy fun.

I was very happy when I saw Richard Price involved with this project. He's always good with that type of on-the-ground minutiae.

Leaning into the Dead Girl Town trope left me a little underwhelmed, too, but I liked pretty much everything else about the premiere. Nor did I have a problem with a sheltered, naive kid making terrible decisions in the face of a nightmarish circumstance.

The piece is drooling and lecherous, not to mention unprofessional and lazy. Did you read the close about a sex scene Robbie did 3 years ago? "Robbie is thinking one thing. I'm thinking something else." All that's missing is 'amirite, guyz?'

He wrote it like he was on a date rather than an interview. The whole thing came off as sub-Jonathan Franzen wankery.

DOOM on Ps4 is 40 percent off on the PSN store. I snapped that up with the quickness.

Such nose-thumbing is rude and even arrogant, as if you're sharing some great insight only a chosen few are privy to. Is it a big deal? Nah. But it's unnecessary.

Honestly, thank you for expounding on this. If I'd seen this tweet live I may have suggested you go listen to the latest Decemberists concept album and let people have their fun.

Clevelander here: You're correct, though I don't think most Clevelanders would correlate a long-awaited championship with some kind of long-term economic boom. Sure, it will take months for the good feeling to fade - probably right around the beginning Browns season - but folks around here know there are many issues

If you don't find merit in sports, don't feel the need to share those oh-so-precious feelings with the world. I don't give a tin shit for the Oscars, yet I'm not on social media during Oscar night berating an event many people sincerely enjoy and plan social gatherings around. Let people have their fun, as long as
