That's heartbreaking.
That's heartbreaking.
Just here to agree. The anti-vaxxers in my life are college educated, working people whose anti-vax choices are actually validated by anti-vax doctors they've found.
I'm sorry, that's the pits.
Re: never taking her kids to the doctor, how does she know her children are healthy if she's never taken them to a medical professional?
Re: Disneyland, almost certainly. I have some friends who went a week or two ago and they said it was DESERTED (for Disneyland).
Agree! How did this woo-woo nonsense get written into law?
Thought the same thing. This poor kid - she's clearly trying to get on a solid college/scholarship track, and mom's undermining her? I hope she gets out.
I was just wondering about this. We know what a huge risk it is to have unvaxxed kids around - why are we still allowing them to come to school? "Personal beliefs" be damned- people are getting sick!
I don't have children, but can't help thinking about how terrifying it would be to send a child to school knowing that fully half their classmates could be unvaccinated. I don't understand these people.
I got a couple vaccinations/boosters as an adult. It was pretty cheap. For kids, it's often free. There's no excuse.
This is a life saver!!
"Before their immune system is completely formed?" Please look up what an immune system is.
Hi! I received Gardasil as a teenager. As a result, I don't have HPV! Since I don't want to die of lady-parts cancer, something people in my family are at risk for, that's great news for me.
I have a family friend who's an anti-vaxxer - and I don't think ANYONE will ever get through to her, because she's such a special kind of ignorant and paranoid. She has a doctor who is backing her up on an "alternate vaccination schedule" (read: none), so she has all the validation she needs to ignore all reason. She…
100% agreed. Beyond their own children, anti-vax assholes are willfully ignoring (and hurting!) those members of the population who have to rely on herd immunity to get by - like kids with cancer, or very young babies, or people with immune disorders.
I, for one, am pretty angry at having been denied my childhood right to polio.
I remember lots of cosmetics having a distinctly sandy texture around that time
Mine was pink and purple. It's currently at my dad's house and full of elementary school award ribbons.
CUTE!
I should clarify that this was in, like, 2012.
