Oops, hadn't read your reply when I mentioned Cat's Meow above.

Fun film, Cat's Meow is about that very incident.

If you watch All About Eve and don't think Bette Davis is a great actress, I would be very very surprised.

Yes, I think there was a huge difference between how Davis and Crawford were liked by other women and cast/crew. Crawford seems to have made many many friends and been fiercely loyal. Davis, not so much.

The Heiress is, by far, my favorite of all of her films and one of my favorite films, period.

This assumes that the father doesn't have much darker skinned genes in his heritage. DNA is tricky. I know siblings who have very different skin tones. That said, they had to get identical twins (very strict baby usage quidelines) and did their best.

Dame Edna is played by Barry Humphries who is straight. Though he's an actor who calls Dame Edna an alter-ego. Still, more comedy drag queen than not.

Hers was very unusual in that she hadn't even applied. They reached out to her in hopes she might be willing to start a new program because her background is unlike almost anyone else's, and the school is in a bad weather/small town situation. She also had almost no university level instructing experience, but yes, a

To be fair, she was getting a "this number is no longer in service" when she called Shosh and was worried about what might have happened to her as well.

So many stories, so little time.

I grew up in NM, and wow, it looked just like I remembered seeing storms far off in the distance. We're also renowned for our lightning. I vote for real.

Co-sign this 100%!

Wasn't there a snow scene with her and that teacher fella? Anyway, yes, it's almost always summer on this show.

"After Alfred Steele's unexpected death from a heart attack in 1959, Crawford was left broke and deeply in debt. Steele had borrowed heavily against his Pepsi stock, his future earnings, AND his Pepsi pension to finance the construction of their Fifth Avenue apartment and their extravagant globe-hopping lifestyle."

That is my favorite moment at the Oscars ever!
*snort* Shortcomings!

It's clear from this episode that Jack Warner screwed them with studio accounting and so they didn't get any profits from Baby Jane. I worked as a Financial Analyst at Paramount, and you would be amazed at how "creative" some of the accounting becomes (not mine, I was in residuals).

The university pursued and wooed her. They wanted to make sure she was eased in without being too overwhelmed because she's also helping to create a new degree program and hiring of other faculty, and thus, having to create the whole thing.

My sister got a tenure-track position last year where her 1st semester she only taught one class and this year 2. That said, the amount of committee, department, university, publishing, grant writing, and research work she has to do is crazy making. It really depends on the school, the position, and what's needed.

Why am I so moved? With how many times I've almost given up on this show, the last two seasons have really brought me back. This season, watching Hannah actually change and feel and try to make better choices is…hopeful? Perhaps it's that Lena's acting has improved so much? That I can see all the emotions just dance
