Yeah, I think it earned that status, and I would be surprised if others could equal this.

Yeah, an 8 or a 10 is well below average in the US (14/16). I always laugh at the "must be active" if it is agst larger women because so many thin women I know never work out at all. In any case, that's still for actual dates and not just random hooking up which feels like a whole other territory.
So glad you brought this up. I rushed to the comments with the very same note. One thing that was wonderful in this film was not having a male gaze. I could definitely feels it was a woman directing.
Yeah, I've encountered a lot of that as well. Perhaps, after all, it's all about self-assurance and not "leagues" at all.
Spot on!
It wasn't even hard for me (when I was single), and I've been over 200 pounds since my 20s. Do people really think the real world works that way?
I'll never understand why anyone thinks it's hard to have sex with attractive men when you're "not in their league"…sex isn't love or a relationship or ever being seen with the person again. Also, the assumption that what people find sexually attractive equal what society says is fatally flawed.
"Filthy frog mouth" is a slur against someone who is French. I don't care what your opinion of the Chef is—those words shouldn't be used.
Just ugh. There's enough hatred in the world without making these kind of disparaging comments about a world-renowned chef.
Wow, we don't agree on who Paula is at all.
I agree with most of these, but there is no way Paula is Slytherin. I'd accept any other house. I agree with those who say Heather is Gryffindor.
Actually, didn't she want to be a singer and give that up?
We clearly see things very differently and you seem to have nothing but distain for the inmates and my viewpoint. As a teacher, I can assure you that Field Trips are not always for feel good reasons, but are always to educate. Inmates are humans, and I stand by my assessment of the episode.
How can she read? She learned to read in Russia and then went blind. She learned braille in English, but when did she ever learn to read with the English alphabet/letters? She couldn't ask for books because Hap thought she was blind. No way she's reading the kind of books she ordered after less than a month of…
Feels way less this way when you live in LA and almost certainly someone who worked on the film is in the audience—but to be honest, it does my heart good to hear people respond vigorously to film. 🤔
This was a cruel one, but damned if it didn't make me laugh. Kudos!
The Japanese poet in this film is the same actor who was in Mystery Train!
I haven't read other comments, but this review is so far from my own feelings as to create cognitive dissonance. It was clear to me immediately that there were really at Rikers and that the inmates were real. I found it all very moving and illuminating. I knew nothing about the composer previously.
Highly, highly recommended!
Ever seen Hud? One of the best of that genre for sure.
