This is not how it works in the USA. The way Singapore does it is way better.

Not to mention, never underestimate the power of threatening peoples wallets (fines- preferably fines proportional to wealth/income)

That’s really not the only way to decrease crime- you can change the culture so that less people have a motivation to commit crimes, and like magic, crimes decrease. That’s why countries where everyone owns a gun that they have been trained with have far lower gun related crimes than the USA, or places where there are

Well, if they haven’t actually finished commiting the crime, they haven’t actually commited the crime, so you hold them in prison for 24 hours, notify the potential victim, and then let them go, maybe with some kind of “next time you’ll get fined 3000$” or something.

I wish the internet trolls and the patent trolls would get into a huge troll war that resulted in mutual extinction.

Naw, they “started out” as heros, the concept is basically absolutle power corrupts absolutely, but with mechanics.

This isn’t “new” in the sense that superpowered somethings (people, governments) are evil and the little guys rebel and fight back, but the richness of Sanderson’s world building makes it an exceptional execution of the concept, and it is unique in that way.

I know science fiction always has fancy names for the first habitable planet that we are able to colonize, but I am convinced it will definitely be “New Earth”.

Really, is it so hard to just acknowledge that if a customer is being disruptive to the operation of the business, regardless of age or whatever, that the owner has the right to ask the disruptive person(s) to leave? If a child is being disruptive, then the owner has the right to throw the child out. End.

Maybe someone should invest in engineering a flavorful, fungus resistant strain of banana.

Closer, but still off

From April to December, at least ;-P

I like tulle and puffy skirts, and you are mean. ;-P

Thats funny, I’m thinking the solution would be trees. Maybe apple trees. That, like, drop apples sometimes.

What I want to know is- I am using a cheep remote control copter and there is a collision when the expensive spy drone flies over my private property, who is the one who is liable?

Actually, Organic is fairly well regulated, most of the critisim of it is in what it regulates and whether or not processed foods can really count as organic.

I’m still blown away that this is happening, that the Marvel cinematic universe is still steeming along, making impossible movies (Ant man was thoroughly decent, and Guardians was amazing, but without the MCU, thoroughly impossible)

Right, except that accuracy of ingredients are regulated by the FDA, whereas advertising labels are not.

Ugg, no, please don’t pave it! Talk about making a bad situation worse.
