I really love my Maruman Mnemosyne B6 notepads. They're a bit shorter than a regular steno pad, they have great paper and nice dotted lines, as well as room for date and title at the top of every page (front and back). Perfect little books. I buy them by the 5-pack at JetPens:

@Rusty Hawk: Stray dogs can be vectors for human disease, just like rats. If you live in a region with a lot of stray dogs and diseases like rabies, they can seem plenty hateful.

@Teh Echoroc: Oh, I notice a huge difference. I always had trouble removing the non-coated ones, no matter how full they were. The "pro" ones are sooooooo much easier for me.

@Pennyfeather: I always had the opposite problem with Tampax. I have kind of a short vagina, and the Tampax tampons were a bitch to get seated correctly and then would expand uncomfortably. I've never had leakage problems with ob. Hooray for anatomical variation!

@sarasasa: I grew up in an applicator-using household and always hated them, I could never get them to seat the tampon correctly. I was sooooooo happy when I discovered OB when I was in high school. Moxie also makes tampons sans applicator.

A few years ago my favorite variety of OB tampons ("silk ease") disappeared and then, to my elation, reappeared after about 2 years with a new name ("pro comfort") and package.

For crying out loud, he dressed up as a cartoon character. It's no different than if he dressed up as a Pokemon or something. *eyeroll*

@Turboweevel: I think there are too many factors in a relationship to make any kind of blanket statement, I was only seeking to make a statement about my own relationship. That said, if I became the kind of person who wanted to spend every evening at the gym, instead of having dinner at home with my husband, it would

@krystina: I also went to a high school full of rich assholes but couldn't see the forest for the trees, so I didn't really "get" the book. Distance from that environment gave me the right perspective to enjoy it, I think. It's not that I wasn't aware of the assholes around me, it's that I couldn't view them

@Susan B.: I'd say it's possible that any given man has a narrower definition of beauty than any given woman, but there are men out there for every slice of the proverbial spectrum of female appearance.

Here's what I don't get: If we take the hypothesis to be true, that men only care about "packaging," where on earth did she get the idea that every man wants the same package? Since when was it decided that every man only finds thin, plucked, tanned and toned women attractive? If I listened to what this woman had to

@krystina: I didn't like it at all in high school but reread it when I was in my 20's and enjoyed it much more. I think it helps to have lived a little bit before reading it, and also to have known a lot of rich assholes.

@daemonios: Also one refill equals 4 spray bottles (64 oz of cleaner), so your initial shipment is a smaller container for a half gallon of cleaner, then all subsequent shipments are straight cleaner in about 1/32 of the size of diluted cleaner. The sprayer gets reused and only a small, recyclable plastic pod is

@je suis prest: I know a woman who had to go through with this, her son died in utero about 2 weeks before he was due. She did the vaginal birth, so she would be in good shape to do vaginal birth for future children. She has a healthy daughter now. It was difficult, but I think she'd say it was worth it.

A close friend gave birth to her son when he was only 6 months gestation (he's alive & well after many months in the NICU). I can't even fathom what miscarrying at 6 months must be like.

My family had (and still has) a running gag where someone, usually my father, will walk up to another person and whomp them on the head with a large cardboard tube, while yelling "ducks unlimited!" It goes back a good 20 years, we all get a kick out of it. My sister and I both enjoyed wrestling and roughhousing with

These kinds of stories are exactly what the world needs to help convince people that being gay isn't scary and isn't wrong. I can't even describe how elated I am that Essence's readers responded to that article in the way that they did. More media outlets need to follow suit.

I'm so frustrated that all this publicity and attention hasn't lit at least a little bit of a fire under the police to go out and find the attacker in the first place. I love Antoine for getting mad on TV, for being outraged and having the guts to show it. I love him for turning the attention around to the benefit of

@pettiblay: I tend to be a very brand-loyal person, so when I find something that works well I stick with it. I know I could spend more and get an audiophile-quality turntable, or spend less (or the same) and get some crap, but technics seemed to fill a sweet spot between price and quality (particularly durability).

@pettiblay: Technics also made turntables for home use, not just for DJs. I've been a loyal Technics customer for nearly 20 years, this blows.
