@Diffident Dolly: Or if his women's sizing had any bearing on reality. In the normal world I'm a medium for shirts, occasionally a small. At AA I'm an XLarge, minimum. They can't produce plus-sized clothes, because their idea of plus-size is an 8.

@Marla Singer: My WASPy heritage is all about inconspicuous consumption. People with class don't advertise their wealth.

@whoo0meyee: For the record, it's m'am, not sir. :)

@GhostAmongMen: ePub allows for DRM that's not device-specific. For example, I can read the DRM'd Sony books I bought for my old Reader on my newer Nook. Amazon needs a good kick in the ass to add ePub support, something like that would do it.

@trendspotter: There's more competition for the customer's attention at Target than at B&N. There are thousands of different types of products at Target, one display for one device could easy go unnoticed. B&N only sells a few things. Also, B&N stores tend to be walk-in accessible, while most Target stores are in

@GhostAmongMen: Record companies have been doing this for a while for vinyl releases, including a digital download with they physical record. In fact, I don't buy CDs at all anymore, I either buy just a download or vinyl with included download. I think the same could work very well with books. Publishers could even

@wes.rast: It's a little rash to say that buying *anything* now is a mistake. If a user finds that there is a device that meets their current needs, by all means buy it. If you're the kind of person that isn't satisfied until you have a device that does absolutely everything you want, and get annoyed if a new device

@xd.Balls: Bah! If I can spit on their CEO, I should be in their delivery area.

@MikeofLA: I've shared smaller beds, you really don't need a ton of space to get down to business. True, the whole kama sutra isn't available, but most of that is BS, anyway.

@driggity: Yeah, a goodly chunk of Capitol Hill/Central District isn't covered, including my neighborhood. Stupid, since I can see Amazon from the street corner outside my house.

Hrmph. My stupid buzzerless locked front gate still means I can't take advantage of it, just like I can't use Amazon Fresh. Curses! [Shakes fist at landlord.]

@greygreygrey: That is incredibly sweet, and exactly the dopey kind of romance I fantasize about. Also, what's the point of being 20 if you can't make rash, potentially stupid choices?

Wow. All of a sudden I actually like Anne Rice. Good on her for standing up for what she believes.

Strapya actually sells little doodads you stick to your phone (or phone case) to hang a strap from. They have ones you physically screw onto the bottom of the iPhone and more generic adhesive ones you just stick to the phone or a case. I bought about 20 adhesive ones, just to be prepared for future phones and cases.

@201curzonst: Sadly, his last remaining single friend got engaged a couple months ago. I'll let you know if that goes sour, though.

My husband hates this attitude certain religions have about women's bodies and men's ability to control themselves around said bodies, he finds it hugely insulting. Not only is it unfair to expect women to be perpetually desexualized and to police their own bodies at all times to prevent even the slightest possibility

Also: In my head Sal did the art for the top ad, and really enjoyed it. I think he probably used that hunky neighbor of his as a model.
