@polypam: Well, relatively good manners.

I love that pantsless Gaga had the good manners to sit on her jacket.

I only take issue with one myth:

@paulahsj: I generally don't expect my guests to bring anything to dinner, but if they ask I tell them to bring any booze they might want to drink themselves. I buy plenty for the party and those who have particular tastes get to enjoy their preferred beverages. It works really well.

I should have sent this in, but totally forgot. When I was about 20 years old I went to a strip club with some friends. While we were there we were approached by a 40-ish guy who took a much bigger interest in us than in the naked ladies on stage. My friends proceeded to ignore him, leaving me to bear the brunt of his

Gah, 51 kbps. Yes, 51. In Seattle. Bleargh.

@headlesschickens.inc: Thanks for the clarification. Earlier Giz posts were directly correlating data speed with signal quality even when no change in signal display (bars) was present. Your explanation makes a lot more sense.

@CaptainJack: I actually did try licking my hands first and still didn't notice a difference. Haven't tried the penny, though.

This doesn't explain why some users still don't see any difference in data transmission speeds regardless of how they hold the phone. According to your chart there should be a decrease no matter what, but even when I'm in a lowish-signal-area I can't replicate the problem and checking the speed test app shows no

@FriedPeeps: Most of them were made by Sharp. A handful were made by Motorola. Danger supplied the OS.

This kind of breaks my heart. Danger and the Hiptop OS were so promising, I loved the two Sidekicks I had. The only reason I switched to anything else is that they were falling way behind the curve in terms of technical specs (which was so stupid of me in retrospect, the devices I moved to were not better). The OS was

@Norton: And it was created by a woman!

@cso1982: Aardvark of Denmark? I'm not very good at this.

Bleargh, it doesn't include the new episodes of futurama, which is really all I'd want it for. Damn you, Comedy Central!

The rabbi comment cracked me up. I got married a few weeks ago and a few weeks before that someone at work saw me eating a piece of a cookie and said "are you sure you should be eating sweets this close to your wedding?" And I would have told her to STFU if she wasn't above me in the department hierarchy. But, still,

@Mig255: Nope, turned the wifi off. :)

@noshadowscast: There's a plaque on the chair next to it that says "Rob Reiner sat here." :)

@pmbaustin: Someone was told by Apple Care that a batch of phones went out without some sort of protective coating on the metal strip. While that could have been pulled directly out of the rep's ass, it would explain why some users have this as a major, major problem and others don't see it at all.
