@saralegal21: For people of a certain generation (my parents, for example) dope does mean weed. Trust me, they smoke enough of it to know.

@Omakad: Dumb question: have you tried using a headset until the problem gets sorted out and Apple either accepts a return or offers an exchange?

Using the speed test app, if I hold it in the "death grip" I get 4000kb up/1600kb down. If I hold it in the fingertip pinch instead it gets about the same as on the table, 1800 up/1500 down. With a case on in my hands it only gets 1400 up/1200 down. With or without a case it's the same on the table.

My iPhone 3G was as slippery as a greased eel. That thing would fly out of my hand daily. I haven't had that problem at all with the 4, it seems like the glass sticks to skin better than the rounded plastic of my 3G.

Looks like Redfin works with fast app switching in iOS4. It appears to both load info in maps and pick up where you left off if you switch out and back.

@Stetrain: Apparently the traffic from Gizmodo took them down. They say they'll be back up "ASAP," but that was hours ago.

@Geraldo Rivera's Mustache: I'm generally the same way, but I've noticed if I'm hanging out with my 25-year-old cousin and her friends (I'm 31) they mostly sit around staring at their phones, even IMing each other. It's really weird.

@Applerain: I think Gators15 is referring to the possibility that Gizmodo didn't get a review device from Apple, and therefore has no real choice but to post links to other reviews until they can write one of their own.

@Pwnage: I have an iPhone and a dumbphone and I also have no problems with AT&T coverage in my city. My understanding is that the performance is tied to the locale, not the hardware.

@AustinFound: Interesting, it hasn't been a generational thing in my family. My grandparents (born in the 1910's) had records, my parents (born in 1950) still have a huge record collection, but no longer add to it, and my sister and I (born in the 70's) buy vinyl almost exclusively. It makes a big difference now that

I am an unabashed Delivery Status zealot. I've been using it for years on my home mac, through the web interface at work and on my iPhone. $5 is never too much for such a great little piece of software.

@Zfire: They're both 800x600 pixels, identical screens from the same manufacturer. Any perceived difference in resolution is directly related to software (fonts, etc) and not the screen itself.

@Realityism: The question is whether Sony will stay in the fight or just let the poor thing die.

@YourStarDoesNotMakeYouRight: I like my nook a lot, too. But having never used a Kindle it's hard to proclaim who's "best." Personally, any device that can't read the ebooks I've bought over the last decade isn't even in the running, so Amazon was never a contender for my money.

@fastm3driver: Poor Sony, they really seem to have disappeared from the race. It's a shame, too, they were in it first, long before Amazon. I loved my 505 until it stopped loving me back. :(

@gizgizgiz: I bet you could have finished college in 4 years if you'd been a coffee drinker.

Can non-Japanese users still add the emoji keyboard? Or will I have to bid it adieu when I get my iPhone 4?

@lauwersp: Good news, thanks for finding it!

@satinsilvercl: Apple made it very clear in the preorder process that the iPhone would be shipped to you ready-to-use. This strongly suggests it's coming with a SIM card.

@nfletcher2: Did Apple ever send you an email confirmation of your order? You should be able to click on the link for your order status and view it that way. Alternatively, go here: [www.apple.com]
