@MeggLegg: It's a little presumptuous (and pretentious) to assume everybody who likes lady gaga only listens to mainstream pop. Crawl out from under your indie rock once in a while, it can be fun.

@Eldritch: There are OB/Gyns that think the pill causes an abortion. Sadly, having a degree in medicine and even practicing obstetrics & gynecology aren't enough to stop the crazy.

@HonkyGeisha: There are also a lot of former-Soviet block women in software engineering positions. Again, I think it has to do with growing up in a culture that did not push women away from math and science.

@Lulu-tumalu: Kind of a nit-pick, but I don't know any couples (grandparents and parents included) whose wedding bands match. Most women I know get bands that match their engagement rings. Those who don't wear an engagement ring tend to get a thinner band than the husband, often in an entirely different metal.

I take a small bit of umbrage at the either/or of this statement:

@nobodyr: I proposed, but it wasn't a "get down on one knee" sort of thing. He ended up surprising me months later with a ring. I've known men who wore engagement bands, though.

@kerry: I should also add that AT&T service seems to have gotten worse in the town where I used to live, so perhaps if I hadn't left Chicago I'd have a different opinion. In Seattle, though, it's great.

@pitcherjunk: I think you and I may be standing in line together for the iPhone. My situation sounds an awful lot like yours, right down to the discount.

I've had so many phones on so many carriers, none of them are perfect. I'll say this about AT&T though: I've had them the longest and most frequently of everybody. I've never had a billing snafu or been without coverage when I needed it. All of my family and most of my friends are on AT&T, so those calls are free. I'd

@Cute_and_Hirsute: I know that my husband is an extremely private person and therefore does rely on me heavily for emotional support and intimacy. He has friends but he's not an open person, so I see what this study is getting at. However, I'm not a terribly open person, either, and rely on my husband for a kind of

@PortraitHat: Women are good at producing babies.

@paperispatient: It can even be difficult to find out if your insurance covers it. At my former job we were self-insured (it was a hospital) and I spent weeks on the phone going in circles trying to ascertain if the IUD was covered, since our insurance was private and therefore not required to adhere to the state

@snacktastic: Hooray for aspic! I love meat jello! My cousin makes a truly awesome shrimp cocktail aspic, it's horseradish/tomato aspic with shrimp and capers in it. So good!

@HannahBethD: I figure that fish pee in the water, so why can't I?

@LucilleBluth: No. Everybody has bumps, veins, freckles, hairs, blobs of whatever in their legs. Even truly expert makeup application wouldn't produce the shiny, smooth tube of aluminum you're seeing. Don't feel bad about your legs, you are human. That image up there is not.

This is McQueen, no?

@ms.windupbird: The cells that hold onto the ink are different than the cells which are affected by the sun. That said, maybe there's some extracellular matrix benefit to having that many tissue monocytes hanging around, chomping on ink.

Oh man, the bit around her eyes must have been brutal. I wonder if she took painkillers first.

@Dysphoria: Ah, thanks for the clarification! Candles on a tree do make a lot more sense when it's outside. Crazy Victorians!
