@DarlingGirl: I think Ellen DeGeneres did give her a $30,000 scholarship and offered her an internship.

@Aaron Martin-Colby: My man and I like to shape the top crust on our pies into dirty, dirty images. Not as nice as the Mario cake, but it's good for a larf.

@Haystacks: Sounds like my wedding, which will be in June. I paid $200 for the dress but it needs to be altered. We have 25 guests and the ceremony will be in my parents' back yard. Our parents (his and mine together) are paying for the rehearsal dinner, which will run about $800. I'm paying for the wedding reception

@katie.scarlett.o'hara: Back when I had long hair I did the same. Never used a brush, just detangled with a comb either in the shower or immediately after and then air-dried. Used my fingers to break up the really big curls.

After many years of practice I found that the best way to straighten my thick, moderately coarse (for a european), curly/wavy hair is to use a fairly hot blow dryer with a concentrator (the little narrow attachment that goes over the blower) and a rubber-backed styling brush like this one: [www.sallybeauty.com]

@Pennsylvanian100: Out of curiosity, did you period stop while you had the Mirena? They list it as a possible benefit/side effect, I'm trying to gauge just how common it is. It's all going on the pro/con list.

@Joy: On the plus side, passing out might have made it possible to insert the thing. Just saying.

@Dorilys: Scoopula! Yay! That and the Wonder Wedge are my two favorite lab tool names!

@Jabberwock: The deal is that the IUD is hugely common in countries other than the United States in all women, not just those who've had babies (or been pregnant, I think if you miscarry far enough along it counts), the uterus size thing is maybe kind of bullshit. My doctor's excuse for not giving me one is that she's

@Barrabás: Oh, there's probably some rebirth ritual involved.

@Savari: While I agree that discussing her weight (ie whether or not she's healthy, beautiful, etc) is not important, the story of her feeling like she couldn't be something because of it is important to tell. How many other girls (and boys) need to hear the same thing? How many girls think they need to fit some ideal

It looks like if you set it on fire the smoke would spell "EVIL" with a skull and crossbones underneath.

@titchytiny: EVERYBODY GETS A MAN ON A HORSE!

@ratz: My mother is very small-chested and my whole life I got to hear my mom bitch about it and my dad say borderline-inappropriate things about being a leg man. For serious, he could not care less about her cup size.

@ctkat1: And, I shit you not, just as I got to this post "The Man Who Sold The World" came on. Oh, maybe a little weeping.

@Baby_000: There's a documentary coming out about Maynard James Keenan and his vineyard, just FYI:

@lodown: I guess mine is German flush, I also get really red-faced when I've been drinking. Never heard of using pepcid before, will absolutely buy some. Thank you!

@sunshineandbones: My skin is dry and gets really reactive if I use anything harsh on it. I've never tried crisco, but when my skin is really dry I slap some Ponds cold cream on it at the end of the day. I let it soak for a bit and then wipe off the excess with a tissue. Like a moisture bomb.

@Eralc Alegna: While I totally agree, I still think he has a point with the "think of our children" line of thought. Shit like this can really screw a kid up for life. I mean, it's bad enough as it is for them, isn't it?
