I don't wear a ton of foundation, but I'm a big fan of Philosphy's "Clear Makeup." It's a silicone-based primer which can be worn alone as an all-over complexion evener or under foundation to keep it in place. I've used it as both (though mostly wear it alone) and can vouch for its foundation holding abilities. $25

@CallMeBirdy: Found the research, also found a follow-up showing stereotype threat gap disappeared (or narrowed) after Obama was elected:

@CallMeBirdy: This phenomenon has been studied a lot. One university found that if you take a group of white students and black male students and tell them they're taking a basic math skills test they do equally well on average. If you tell them they're taking an IQ test the black students do worse on average. They do

@Hazey Jane: Well put. You can directly see what you're talking about in the culinary arts, which is heartbreakingly male-dominated. Many chefs (and schools) still believe that women simply aren't capable of harnessing the subtleties and nuance of complex flavors, textures and serious food; women belong in the home

@ValentineMocker: Yeah, it's basically camming for girls who like video games.

@silkyjumbo: Oh, I 100% believe he was trying to offend you. I was just saying that he's an idiot but you shouldn't feel bad, cuz the Vick Dogs rule.

Holy christmas, I got 15 right. Way better than I thought I would! All the ones I guessed on I got wrong, though. Heh, never was good at guessing.

@silkyjumbo: In case you haven't seen it, those Vick Dogs have a blog:

@redforeva: First: Ha! Second: I didn't say I was *friends* with these people.

@Kitty Conner: Truly, I know people who think it's THE SUN what gives you cancer, and that the tanning bed is the harmless alternative.

@CandyBacon: I have a feeling the reason this girl didn't want her mom to know and the reason the mom is so mad at the school are the same. Her behavior doesn't strike me as terribly concerned about her child's emotional health.

@Ms.Frost: I'm totally a Miranda and I own it. Weak-chinned, short-haired, neurotic and mostly anti-bullshit. Miranda-haters can suck it.

@RiloKilo: "Well, I'm a mom so I'm really careful about how I pluck my eyebrows."

@mordicai: She says she's super-poor. Of course, I have no idea what her definition of "poor" is.

@maemae: But aren't there still supposed to be workplace protections in place for independent contractors? Like, if your model gets physically hurt on the job, somebody on some part of it is held responsible for it, right? I don't see how sexual assault is really any different.

@booktart: Nuts! I thought I was totally onto something.

@HoneyBoom: Ah, I was wondering how their accents sounded (I'm not a Spanish-speaker). I could tell they weren't speaking very "continental" Spanish, but beyond that I'm lost. It was really, really nice to hear those actors get to speak Spanish, though. I'm surprised it hadn't really been done before.

Also: I'm pretty sure they said the name of the guy who bought Richard into slavery was named Widmore.
