I wish I shared your optimism. But most of the things you mention on your list of reasons not to worry aren’t rules, they’re just traditions. And as we saw last time, if you’re willing to just completely ignore traditions, you can cause a LOT of havoc.

You are assuming that a 2nd Trump presidency would play by conventional rules. The supreme court has given every indication that they will support and uphold whatever executive orders a Republican president wants to sign. They go into the rulings with their minds made up, and then go searching for the weakest…

It’s literally impossible to understate the damage that these guys could cause to the United States and to the planet. It’s incredible that we even have to consider the possibility of it all.

It’s more than just the auto industry, though. Project 2025's environmental section is basically “let’s intentionally destroy as much nature as possible and purposefully make global warming worse.” Not even a “maximise shareholder value for a short while” kind of destruction, but “let’s commit environmental suicide”…

I like it except for the vent coloring mentioned in the article, and the fact that the ‘optional’ wing on a $1 million+ car was $38k; Bugatti gets to ask that because they’re Bugatti, and they would probably do something intricate like etch the DaVinci Code into it or something.

I understand a lot of the concerns around speed cameras, and in general I’m opposed. But in all the outrage expressed in the comment sections of the news articles here in Rochester, none of the outrage was that SO MANY FUCKING PEOPLE ARE SPEEDING THROUGH THE SCHOOL ZONES.
