Still someone should have direct responsibility for the bags until the customer gets them again. If the airport itself should be liable, I don’t know if the airline would give the person money out of the goodness of their heart. They would direct them to the airport to file a claim.

Its because we all know exactly what kind of person he is when he said that: Typical white, conservative, Trump-supportin’ piece of shit.

My guess would be that he does have LEO friends who are happy to just not ticket him for this, but officially claiming they shut down a road for a private citizen to speed around recklessly on is too far for them to go without drawing the ire of real criticism and discipline. He was probably hoping they would back his

A few years ago I posted my 220hp K20a swapped Honda Insight for sale and added a short video of its astonishing acceleration on a rural road. Then I realized if you freeze-framed one spot there’s a legible 45mph speed limit sign, so I had to delete it and repost with an edit. What I didn’t know was this:

“We issued a reimbursement check to the guest as a courtesy, even though we are not currently aware of any evidence that any Spirit employee was involved. We take any allegation of this nature seriously, and we are investigating.”

Can we implement a new rule on Jalopnik that whenever you write about a car that isn’t going to be available in the US, you state that upfront? I was already pulling out my checkbook by the time I got to the bottom and you crushed my little heart.

Maybe you would also be ok with police putting cameras in your house, which would increase your safety immensely!

jesus fuck america. What should be perfectly adequate, and ostentatious in most of the world, is a wee bit small because we have to have giant suvs and a macmansion and live in suburbs while working in a city. Buy a Fiat or a mini or some shit. Sounds ridiculous but my brother that drives some massive lifted boulevard

Say “Bye” to Gizmodo as they have apparently been sold off.

dammit.  herb’s gonna herb.

Damn, there it goes :(

G/O Media sold off Gizmodo an hour ago. Jalopnik is the final commenting forum in the old Gawkerverse. The end days are upon us.

I used to regularly ride my bicycle in NYC. One thing that would probably go a long way would be better rider education and enforcement. At least 3/4 of them ride against traffic on the wrong side of the road. It’s super dangerous for both them and bike riders who are trying to ride with traffic. Another issue is the

One day, people will realize there’s more than one chapter in Unsafe at any Speed.

Sounds like a lot, sure, but even if you use worst-case numbers — let’s say that max consumption of 1000 gallons an hour — you’re really only talking about 2 gallons of fuel per person to move them (and their car) the 27 miles across the channel. So even at a cost of $10/gallon it’s $20 per person — Not outrageous.

Jesus, you really do try to shove the Charger into everything. Get’s old as fuck real fast.

Isn’t the ratio greatly quickened when stopped like this? So, at higher speed, the driver would likely have to turn the steering wheel even further, which would reduce the lag.

Of all the things to complain about, this is pretty much a non-issue. Steering effort is always highest at a stop since the tires are 100% scrubbing. It’s not a good way to see the response from any system. Even a slight roll would probably make it much less noticeable
