Good point; ‘dipshit’ and ‘MAGA’ are redundant…

If you can’t blame everyone else for your failure, you’re not much of a CEO.

Guy who is running his automobile company into the ground says that regulations are running the entire industry into the ground?  Cool story bro.

Yeah...no...the government didn’t tell Ford to only make trucks and sports cars.

From what I’ve heard, pretty much all FAANG company layoffs in California in the past couple years are: turn in your laptop, all company access blocked, you are still officially an employee for 60 days with pay/benefits, and then you are laid off on the last day. This is what the WARN act forces them to do.

I guess the only logical thing for him to do would be a financially brilliant move to acquire Fisker, to shore up their EV offerings.

What political speculation? I did not write anything promotional or disparaging about any candidate.

The responsible thing for Mercedes to do would be to buy it and put it in their own museum along with an exhibit where they own up to their past (via the aforementioned dozens of placards).

Are you suggesting Space Force is a political campaign?

100% agree banning large vehicles won't happen, but they could stop incentivizing them with the CAFE footprint rule and the tax breaks afforded any large truck or SUV purchased by a business, treated as a commercial vehicle and business expense when it is nothing more than a luxury commuter.

The big thing that I take away from this is two things:

We have amazing advances in technology for small cars to be safe, efficient, an excellent use of space, all the car most people need 99% of the time.

nothing scares the GOP more than organization. Divide and conquer or organize and unity.

This was not a case where management said they would close the factory and lay everyone off if the workers join a union. As VW wanted a trade union to work with at its factories in the US, just like it does at other VW factories. However, politicians in the GOP claimed that the UAW would charges dues, engage in costly

He said he was conservative.

It’s all about profit margins... The C suite thinks everyone will buy their overprices luxo-barges if that’s all they make.  And shockingly, people will ditch brand loyalty if the brand doesn’t offer what they want.

Right. How do you explain the Korean and Japanese automakers continuing to produce small cars? Kia has 4 small cars for sale that start under $22k. The cheapest Hyundai is an Elantra for $22k. Entry level Japanese sedans/hatches start under $25k. They seem to be doing fine to me. The law has no blame for Ford’s lack

And what does that have to do with government mandates? Honda sold 200,000 Civics alone in 2023. Were they exempted from these onerous government mandates?

When exactly did the government mandate the killing of small hatchbacks and sedans?

No, the manufacturers are run by shortsighted people who chase quarterly profits. The government didn’t have much at all to do with it.
