Unless the state he’s in has some different used EV credit it’s not free. The federal credit is $4k, but it’s really 30% of the purchase up to $4k. Not just a straight $4k credit.

How would this be free? The used EV credit is for 30% with a max of $4,000 not a straight $4,000.

And it’s from CA so there’s most likely very little to zero rust.

You mean NP, right?

Have you ever driven one?  They are a blast to zip around in.  Much more fun than a contemporary Miata, or, in my opinion, other MR2s.

That was my thought. The list of things it needs is pretty long, but a lot of that is replacing aged parts. It’s more than you’d want to spend if you wanted a bigger project (like a full restomod) but if you just want an old wagon to cruise and tinker, it looks like a decent candidate.

Time for this guys wife to revoke his CriCut privileges and for penance make him spend some time with a hair dryer or heat gun. ND for the dash toupee alone.

Yeah, I could almost get there if it was just kind of ratty survivor, instead of a survivor of bad choices.

I wrote this on Oppo years ago, but since my dad is currently in ICU fighting for life, I think it’s ok to repost again in his honor. Hang in there Pops....

It looks like roll on truck bed liner.

Nice color, reasonably nice shape, 5 speed, sounds like it runs and drives fine. You could buy this, cruise around to picnics and car show on the weekend and spruce it up a little as you go.

Maybe, in addition to a mechanical inspection, run a black light around the back of it before you commit.

Finally, a camper for The Weeknd.

This is the same company that decided to save a few bucks per car by not having engine immobilizers for several years.

I’m with you. It looks amazing, so investigating and solving the fuel injector issue can be your project without having a dozen other assignments behind it. $12k isn’t chump change but the wow factor is strong, it’s a pretty little gem.

I appreciate that write-up, Rory, and have nothing to add other than...
