This is my first AC game and goddamn it rules. Just finished chapter 4 last night (somehow lol) and I can see myself doing multiple new game+ runs.

It’d take a whole essay for me to explain why but Shadow of the Colossus has to have one of the all time great video game endings. What other game wordlessly hammers home its message about grief by conditioning you to hold on as tight as possible the entire game before forcing you to physically let go in the final…

Yeah having the camera pull comically back during the kiss was so goofy, especially since every other kiss in the game is front and center. On the plus side they seem great together and Dion fuckin rules.

I was watching closely and they definitely leave it ambiguous. Clive definitely thinks it’s someone else and the weird POV with his voice is outside of Ifrit (compared to Joshua’s which are all from Phoenix’s POV). The real answer is probably Complicated.

I get that the main point of these is to count down (up?) to SGF and the actual content of the tweets is secondary to that, but couldn’t they have just used some cool concept art or something instead of “this GAME will RESPOND to PLAYER INPUT”

The combat in Phantom Blade 0 looks wild but wow, they desaturated it so much it might as well be greyscale lol.

I do think there’s a big difference between having it laid out in nice little bubbles during any scene with a single button press, vs having to go a couple layers deep into a menu to read paragraphs after the scenes. This sounds much closer to Triangle Strategy’s system where it gives you a quick little summary of…

I’ve seen a lot of people dunking on this (and the messaging about the devs being confused doesn’t help lol), but Triangle Strategy had something very similar and it absolutely ruled. We’ll see if XVI uses it as more of a supplement vs a crutch, but I want to see this become the norm for RPGs going forward.

I’ve seen this kid around and I still don’t really get what his whole thing is. Like there’s always some vague social or political slant to his appearances but in a really empty and inconsistent way. Is he genuinely just “trolling” for the sake of it? What’s the joke at that point?

The fact that Link starts in the sky makes me wonder if they’re still going to lean on a lot of flashback cutscenes, just this time showing what happened between BotW and TotK. Or maybe there’ll just be a big scene at the start to set things up.

You can still play digital WiiU/3DS games, you just can’t buy them.

In other words it’s something that’ll be lightly hinted at at best, even in TOTK, because Nintendo has consistently shown they care way less about lore than people with access to the internet and a ton of free time.
