I saw about half of the movie and it was...rough. It does seem as though people are reviewing it on the strength and hype of the marketing campaign.

Logan was weird. It’s trying to be adult, but it’s still silly in a superhero way? I liked it OK, but I liked the previous Wolverine and other X-Men movies more.

Yeah I sort of assumed the movie would address that.

I think it’s full of great characters! Do you mean they’re not three dimensional?

I didn’t know we had Charlie Kaufman commenting here

Just have your character handling butter and then the phone slips into the ocean

That’s fascinating and incredibly stupid.

You gotta watch it many times over and incorporate it into your conversations

We got Strays and the Jennifer Lawrence one coming out - those might be good.

Wonder how this compares to other recent sequels? Of course they’re all ridiculous, but some entries (5, 6) are more elegant and have better stunts than others (9).

Absolutely on Evil Dead Rise. Alyssa Sutherland was good, but the movie lacked a personality and suspense. Also all of the interesting imagery was used in the trailer. Comparable to the new Candyman, but that was more assured.

As a Scream-head, I find the beauty of the series is in how it’s basically the same movie every time, with incremental differences. Not to get too hoity-toity, but it lends itself to the whole meta theme.

Great interview. I love what he says about not saving stuff for the next movie, and you can definitely feel that in the movie. It feels generous compared to the stinginess of other major blockbusters.

I get that complaint, but compared to the rest of the stuff they did well, it doesn’t bother me. The movies have to star people!

Looks great! Wong’s such a likeable actress, and Yeun’s always great.

Loved Scream 6.

Of the nominees I saw, I think Top Gun and Avatar felt like the most complete packages. They accomplished what they set out to do.

If nothing else I do find “Cliff Beasts” to be a pretty funny euphemism for dinosaurs.

Is this maybe a little too clever for Disney+? Needs to go to a more sarcastic streaming service.

I can never get through Were-Car. I always end up losing focus.
