I was not wowed by the stunts. Even if they are practical, their direction and perhaps conception left me cold.

Just saw Abigail last night and found the plot pretty sloppy. Usually I really like the Radio Silence guys’ movies.

I agree with everything the author said and I’ll add  this: the foundational plot of the movie is solid. It’s a Terminator riff where they’re being chased by a Spider-Man Terminator. That’s so great and small!

I wonder what the storyline would be - kind of seems like it would overlap with Jake Johnson’s character in Spiderverse.

He didn’t we should hate her. I think it’s a good example of her vibe that can throw people off. I would say self-deprecating comedy isn’t her strong suit.

It would be kind of notable if this is a full reboot, as the previous 6 movies all exist in the same continuity.

The trailer makes it seem like it’ll go the ultra-reverential Ghostbusters route, but hopefully they have some madcap comedy in here.

I found it quite charming! Messy, yes, outright bad in some places, yes, but overall I found it a refreshing change of pace with its heart in the right place.

When was Bush on?

Fury Road didn’t quite work for me. I wanted it to be more...stupid? More lurid? More surprising? I recognize that technically it’s impressive, but on the dramatic front it left me cold.

Ted’s a pretty good concept and character; they could’ve had like 8 movies where Ted Does This, Ted Goes Here, etc. But the second one was a pretty weak rehash of the first.

That’s up to 3 seasons now!

This is exciting! The original is a favorite of mine, and there’s a lot more to explore in the world

I think it’s fair. Slick, quippy, flashy. Think about the main villain character.

Guess what, Jay? It’s not that compelling.

How does this work - does she not make money off any of the songs anymore?

With Taran Killam!

They had a great presence in the movie. Half bully, half cool kid.

I’m excited for Rose Byrne in this. She was incredible in Platonic.

To me that seemed like the novel thing about this take - that they actually are teenagers. Not sure if other versions have done that.
