I finally went to go see Aquaman after wanting to for a while, and we ended up leaving halfway through. It was boring and dumb. I thought the fact that it was, you know, *Aqua*man would at least keep it entertaining, but the story was so undifferentiated and Momoa’s acting was so bad that it didn’t seem worth it to

I, uh, loved this movie. Mostly not ironically.

I thought this was a great finale, mainly because of how much plot there was after a series of episodes where so little actually took place.

I think it was Melanie’s fear or something? That got used as a henchman. Maybe Melanie is a mutant.

He is if he draws a royal flush.

(Spoilers)

It was a very clunky representation of narcissism. The people were just being dicks. That’s not novel or insightful. And it heavily featured cell phones; I don’t think it’s a leap to think it’s a comment on technology.

I feel honey potted with the emphasis on Amy Poehler.

So did the Shadow King kill Amy’s mind in the process of changing her body into Lenny’s?

Someone had the nifty thought that it was his spider-sense!

Because I think every other time the word’s been said out loud in Spider-Man media it’s been “bee.”

I saw this at Target and thought about getting it, but the switch has made me so lazy and unwilling to play on the actual TV. Handheld mode is so convenient. And hopefully the switch will get that subscription virtual console soon.

And why do all the main characters live in the same place?

I didn’t really like Ready Player One. I found the references more annoying than anything; I thought maybe Spielberg would do something interesting with them, but the movie doesn’t really have anything to say about pop culture’s effect on us. And the plot outside of the references I found pretty standard and sometimes

I love Don’t Breathe, and you’re right that is very similar.

This is a great, simple premise that I’m surprised no one has done before. Reminds me of Lights Out in that way.

A B+ is disappointing compared to an A. I agree that the ending was disappointing; the last two episodes were the first time it started to feel like a traditional show to me. I guess the lack of closure allows for a second season though, so it’s ultimately worth it.

Breakdown is an awesome action movie. I love how straightforward it is. I watched it based on an AV club top 90's feature.

It was pretty good, but I wouldn’t consider it a top Marvel movie. My biggest issue is I would have liked less dialogue and more action, and the action that was there was mostly weak.

That’s not what we were arguing. We’re comparing movies that originated from a different script. I think your first comment actually makes the best point; people love the Die Hard movies because they can’t tell it’s a Frankenstein of a movie.
