I thought Nissan had sold more than the 250k electric cars and the EV credit was no longer available.

Day to day, most people never drive that much but here’s the thing, you wont charge your car to 100% every night. You will probably charge once a week or every other week. You then have a situation where maybe your down to 75 miles of range and you’ll charge in a few days but a big trip comes up out of the blue. …
Um, wait a minuet. I’ve used EA chargers and my experience has been they are either slow or broke. It looks to me they are saying there are 456 of the 300KW chargers and 2000ish 150KW stations. For the rest, 96% of Americans live within 120 miles (hardly convenient) of some kind of EA charger but not necessarily one…
“It’s going to help sell the car, and I’m happier for it.”
I think it is. People somehow expect the tech to be perfect. It doesn’t have to be. It only has to be better than most people to be a net benefit to society. People die in non-automated cars every day for all kinds of simple & stupid reasons. For every time the tech gets it wrong and kills someone (and it will), there…
Good point.
People with EVs are different. I list my charger on plug share and have had several people charge at my house.
That is why Tesla wins. It boggles my mind that no other manufacture has struck up a deal with Tesla to invest in their network and allow their EVs to use the super chargers. They have already opened up the patents. Can you imagine how popular Leafs and Bolts could be?
I completely agree with you. My first car was a 92 2-door blazer. Mine had been owned by Ozzy Smith of the St. Louis Cardinals fame. Good memories.
“That isn’t particularly big but it is notable because for years Tesla’s line about its prices was that it doesn’t negotiate. The car costs what it costs, because obviously Teslas are worth every penny, or some such.”
Um, this hasn’t changed. Tesla has lowered the base cost of all cars. You don’t have to negotiate…
Super high end scale models are awesome. I’ll never afford one but can certainly appreciate skill and talent. https://modelworksdirect.com/
Good for them. Its nice to see a city fighting for jobs instead of pulling an AOC and kicking a big company out (Amazon).
I don’t even think it needs to raise up. Just mount the plug at ground level with a lid that opens via app. Move it closer to the curb to prevent a tripping hazard when someone is using it. Kind of like floor outlets in a home.
I also don’t see pot shops, liquor stores, and a whole lot of other businesses that have been running full tilt. The lock down was totally arbitrary and made no sense. That’s why people are rebelling against it.
Jalopnik and the trolls: Elon Musk will kill us all by forcing us to play games while we drive. Autopilot sucks. Who the hell does he thing he is?!
Normal people: Big whoop. He will probably hide some pokemons at the chargers and add minecraft to the list of things available while parked that I’ll try once and never…
But those other companies were stupid and don’t have EVs and do have to buy credits. Positioning your company to be able to sell them is a completely valid and smart business move. Could the gov change the requirements? Sure but as others have said, IF it happened, it would be slow and Tesla would be able to adapt…
I think of the Tesla “savings discount” like other manufactures when they advertise cars for a specific payments. You have to take that with a grain of salt because it always depends on your credit and options etc. Here, they are telling you to think about the cost of the gas you will save. Well, obviously, when gas…
Because you hate Tesla, you missed an opportunity to write an interesting automotive article on how traditional off roaders use snorkels and how electric off roaders will have different challenges to solve etc. But you didn’t.
It seems like there are two issues here about Tesla. First, hospitals are waiting on delivery. There could be many reasons for delay. It could be on Tesla’s side but it could also be a large number of external factors.
Second, there is debate over the effectiveness of his device (is it a real ventilator or not). If…
