I guess a rider could use their current cell phone as a hotspot to an old, cheap smartphone that has no SIM card. A smartphone can still typically function like a computer on wifi. Then the riders regular phone sits safely in a pocket/bag and the old phone with no SIM displays directions and takes the damages of

I have handlebar mounts for my bicycles but have never been interested in one for my motorcycle. The phone is always in my pocket or my tankbag. Part of it is not wanting distractions and not needing GPS but the main part for me is heat. South of I-10 the sun will cook your phone.

It's worth thinking about whether you want a radiant heater or a space heater.. If you are working outside radiant is probably the better choice although the torpedo heaters will blow a stream of hot air as long as you have electricity.

I have a BigBuddy heater. that thing will make my 400sqft garage about 20° warmer. might not sound like much, but when its 40 outside and 60 in the garage its very welcome.

Alex on Autos also went hunting for this and found something interesting

It’s a beautiful car and it won. WW2 era cars are few and far between nowadays so why not appreciate the few that are left, there won’t be any more added.

This goes a bit too far IMHO. We can acknowledge that these vehicles have a complex, even messy history yet still appreciate the design and craftsmanship that went into them. Those ‘30s Benzes are some of the prettiest prewar machines out there IMHO - and, alongside Bugattis and Duesenbergs, the most advanced too. The

I won’t weigh in on your main point here, I’ll make the semi-related point that, from a purely aesthetic point of view, the winning car is imposing—and a little sinister, even without any unsavory background but doesn’t set my heart beating like the other three cars that were also Best in Class winners and

There’s a lot of “History” to unpack there in much the same way someone who’s never read the Bible but heard from a priest that it hates lesbians and goes on to tell people that God hates Ellen leaves a lot to unpack.

What ? Are you seriously getting offended that the Nazis had custom-built cars, like many of the elites of any country at the time ? I don’t even get your point. Do you think the whole country of Germany should have been burnt down after the war because the Nazis touched it ?

Really Raph, we’re back to hating inaminate objects as evil because of their owners or designers? Does that mean you sent your Bug to the crusher? After all, why would someone drive around in the car designed for the Nazi everyman and that was used as a fundraising effort for the war. You might argue it doesn’t count

But what IS the historical context of this car. No one knows. There is a rumor that is based on zero documented evidence, and disputed by the son of the man who owned it, that it was a gift from Hitler. That’s it. This isn’t a vehicle that was personally owned by Hitler or some other high level Nazi. It’s just a car. W

Sorry Raph... this is one pedantic filler of an article...

Journalist?

Look at the bright side. This car exists, and Hitler doesn’t.

Don’t you own a VW beetle?  The original Nazi car.

I don’t really know what the point of the article is. From what I can tell from your text, no one really seems to know what the provenance of this car is. But if you’re trying to say that nazis are bad, I agree with you. Oh and apparently someone in the 60s said it was ugly. I disagree.

Lets just pull the Carfax on the car and see who owned it....   :)

Some automotive journalist failed at critical thinking.
