The Soul/Forte would be decent comparisons because they both basically start at 20k... (which means theyre likely optioned north of 23k.... and id guess that would be similar for the mav).

Trucks are in vogue right now, so that gives the Maverick a leg up on the other $20k cars. The fact that it has a little bed is just a bonus.
Versa 2331
Spark 278
Soul 14124
Fit 0
Mirage 4916
You're comparing to the wrong vehicles. You should be comparing to the Versa, Spark, Soul, Fit and other vehicles you can get for around $20k.
With or w/o mice nests?
SoCal cars are similarly rust free. Turns out dumping salt directly onto the frame (road salt) is way more damaging than just having salty air.
Most of the population doesn't live on the beach, all my cars have zero rust. Usually the rusty cars we see around here are either from out of state or pickups used to for pool companies (chlorine does a number on them).
This Ranger is in Tampa, where it’s likely lived a life free of road salt,
Are you looking to bed on one?
I’ll give you $25k. Okay okay 28, final offer
At today’s fantasy prices, about half that. Check Gar Gurus, etc.
What’s a reasonable price Ranger for one of these?
Man, with prices like this, I wonder how much I can get for my ‘93 Corolla.
Lolwut! I mean, no power driver’s seat?! In a car marketed as a luxury sedan? What’s the underlying vehicle this thing is based on anyway? Some sorta Euro Fiat platform swap?
I think this is more a recognition that their vehicles are overpriced.
Well, uh, eat shit, Torch, and eat uh rusty(?) shit David.
Wow, the two best remaining writers are leaving the site, this is a sad day. I’ve been following this site since 2008, and it’s been sad watching the quantity and quality of posts go through a steady decline, especially over the past ~5 years. I realize this isn’t the fault of the staff, but it’s incredibly sad to…
Oh wow. Can’t wait to see what this next chapter is but also feel like this is a bit of a eulogy for Jalopnik. There are still some great folk around here (looking at you, Mercedes) but what has kept me coming back despite all the GMG BS is Torch and David. Good luck to all!
I had been reading Jalopnik for a little while, but I remember making an account to just to comment when Jason’s VW had been spotted after being stolen. I’ll miss Jason’s sense of humor and snark, and I’ll miss David’s penchant for hopeless rust buckets. I hope nothing but the best for you guys!
The top, for example. That’s not a fixed roof, it’s a hardtop convertible actuated via a power switch. That was pretty much unheard of in 1957.
